Although they are referred to as "blue eyed" the eyes are, in fact, black. They are commonly sold as L144

Do you have any local clubs? My area clubs are incredibly supportive and there's always someone willing to help out with water changes, etc.

Re: Which Auchenipterids are being kept by PC members?
I had originally posted about these back in November, 2014. Bought 6 of these from Ted Judy as Tatia cf. galaxias. The first pic is shortly after arrival. The remainder were taken today of the fish on the right. 3 have grown into what look like intermedia, the other 3 look like the pics below. The ...

Tachysurus trilineatus
Just picked up a few of these. After qt, they'll be going into a 75 gallon unheated river setup. They're pretty active during the day which is a nice change from my wood cats. http://i1367.photobucket.com/albums/r786/atmichaels/image_zpsdtebothz.jpeg http://i1367.photobucket.com/albums/r786 ...

Re: microglanis iheringi breeding
My memory is failing me but I seem to remember reading an article or post where someone (maybe Regina Spotti) had an accidental spawn after ignoring the tank for a number of weeks. I believe it was unheated without lighting and the bottom was covered in leaf litter. Maybe try searching the forum ...

Re: Which Auchenipterids are being kept by PC members?
This species seems especially prone to ich, probably due to being so easily stressed. I have used API general cure (metro/prazi) successfully with zero losses.

Yes, just toss it in and let it grow. I don't dose ferts ever.jodilynn wrote:Can I just let the hornwort float? Does it need to be fertilized? Or is fish waste enough?

Re: Marimo Balls
In order for the cladophora to be an effective filter, it requires some type of flow to push the water through it (or at least over it). I really wouldn't expect it to make a noticeable difference in any sizable tank. I have to second the suggestion of hornwort as it truly requires almost no ...

So today she's really mixing it up. She's setting the eggs on the substrate, picking them up in her mouth, and placing them in the floating plants. This is the first time I've seen this behavior. They spawn weekly and she either places the eggs on the glass or on the flow diffuser of the powerhead ...

Eric-in the U.S., you can usually find debiliterra marketed at $20-$25 each and frequently see them 3 for $45 online. Same for L340's.

Re: I have Albino Bristlenose eggs - now what?
I think your best bet is to leave them where they are for the time being. Once they all hatch, the dad will keep them in the cave for a few days. At that point you can remove the fry to a safer place.

Re: I have Albino Bristlenose eggs - now what?
I've used a hang on breeder to rear ancistrus fry before. I just moved the whole cave in, dad and all. I wouldn't recommend this long term though.
