Re: Synodontis Lucipinnis Questions
A single female can lay about 500 eggs, but over the years that I have produced them about half of the eggs would hatch this is not a very accurate count, out of two females I would get an average of 500 fry even though the tank looks like most of the eggs have turned white.

Karl, what you need is more catfish at least six of this schooling fish is the bare minimum more the better and you need to add some top swimming fish if you are fortunate enough to have this much fish then you wont have the problem you are facing right now.

I can't substantiate or prove it, but a friend of mine was able to get some S. multipunctatus fry from a Cyprichromis leptosoma this is the first time I've heard of this, his tank is only 12 inches high and there where Astatotilapia latifasciata (zebra obliquidens) in the tank as I have suggested ...

I am going there, this time I will try not to be late, this is one of the reasons why I try not to advertise Club meetings even though I belong to several clubs local, national and even international fish clubs. Last weekend alone in Sacramento's "Findig" even though I missed lee Finley's Talk ...

When you guys are talking about the size of a Zebra Pleco or any other pleco in particular, are we talking about the length of the fish from the tip of the snout all the way to the tip of the caudal fin, or is this from the tip of the snout to the base of the tail, coz a 1 inch fish is very small if ...

most of the fish that i'm going to send you are still small and they tend to stay a lot smaller than your channel cat, If you don't mind bringing your channel cat to the place you got it and mybe trade for more fish food or store credit, one thing you can do first is keep the fish for a week or so ...

It depends on what are you trying to accomplish, if breeding the Syno. multipunctatus is your priority then adding the cichlids first would have a better success this way the cichlids feel at home and breed a few times then add the catfish, but then if your host fish are Tanganyikan cichlids then ...

The smaller the bubbles the more surface area it will have per CFM produced by your airpump, and the slower it will rise to the top of the tank. This will improve the contact time between air in the bubble and water that surrounds it....
