Cheers Guys
I went and had a look but the mesh is too large for what I need catching smaller cats Ornates and Lima's.
Used the old jug , will keep looking thou as it would make moving the cats easier.

Non tangle catfish net ? Suggestions ?
Was discussing with a non fish keeper but avid fisherman about netting catfish.
Like most Catfish owners I'm sure most of us have had to cut free some fish etc in my case quite a few through the years.

They dont school as such.
I have kept them individually ok and in pairs and groups, what I have observed is that while they dont school or swim in any formation etc however they appear to be fine with each others company mine would share the same log ,cave etc.

Thanks Panaque and Silurus.
Silurus the cat log says the Ompok Rhadinurus has a short dorsal fin and for the life of me I can't see a dorsal fin on mine but it appears to be the best match.
the cryptopterus have settled in no problem and are feeding on slow sinking pellets.

Hi Redtailrob,
only just seen your post.
I almost purchased it but came across an ornate pim on my travels so went with that.
they were in a Maidenhead aquatics aka fishkeeper up in scotland, they haven't had them in again.
I would guess most maidenhead aquatics could order some in for you ...

Re: Lima shovelnose damaged pectoral fin on fish net
Quick update , was planning on manual removal at the end of this week, but woke up to find that the netting is off the pectoral fin but so is part of the fins spine.
On the plus side the fish has regained movement on the fin and is swimming about care free.
will the spine regrow ?

Re: Lima shovelnose damaged pectoral fin on fish net
Thanks for the advice folks.
Regarding the broken pec fin im not 100% sure if its broken but it has no visible movement in the fin which could be due to the netting or the strain of me retracting the net while the fish tried to escape.
I will give the fish a couple of weeks so see if the net comes ...

I have three Multriradiatus had four but one sadly passed away, I would have preferred at least six of these fish however I could only get the four. (now three)

Re: Brochis Multiradiatus , health issue ?
Unfortunately the one that was less active passed away this morning , all other fish are fine.
Makes sense the age related issues these are full sized fish , hopefully the remaining three will live for a good while and thrive.

Cheers Victor , I agree on how rare these are to get took me over a year just to get this one, in the short time i have had this fish it reminds me more of Pictus as opposed to Blochii.

Pimelodus Ornatus Single or Group ?
Recently I was finally able to locate an Orante Pim who is a stunning cat, I wanted a small group of three but the LFS only had the one left.
I have kept, Pictus in the past and I currently have a single subadult Blochii .

No, unfortunately, I don't have any idea about the age of the group, but makes sense if it's just an old fish
My worry was due to his lack of activity compared to his three tank mates and the difference in color was a possible sick fish, if its just old age then that's a relief, I will just keep an ...

Thanks to you both for the feedback it's appreciated, In the end, I never went with the Fossil and it was nothing to do with the venom of the cat, just ended finding a different cat that I wanted more.

Yeh Viktor i can understand why LFS just label them Mystus Cats.
So far its settled in nice , according to the Cat-elog you can keep more than one.
anyone share any experience on keeping these ? Is just one ok or is it recommended on having a pair or a small group ?
