I wouldn't worry as L18 does not breed in aquaria, its been done once or twice before in very large aquaria under very specific diet and water parameters.

Hi, I have an L14 that does the same thing, my partner thinks hes mental!
I bought mine at about 4cm and about 3 weeks later he just swam up and down the tank front going round the magnet in the top corner, since then i have observed him a little better and he seems to have a bit of a routine going ...

L18-81 also prefer a much stronger water current and benefit a manifold system like those used for asian loach tanks, L177 golden nugget are much more tolerent of slower moving water. Other than that you could try another pleco species, plenty of good looking plecs out there.

Hi everyone
Just a quick introduction, i'm craig from middlesbrough uk and iv'e been keeping fish now for around 15 years.
My current tank contains some wild caught P.scalare, C.trinileatus as i could not get hold of any jullii, L014, bristlenose and a gibbiceps.
