My buddy spawned some Synodontis multipunctatus 4/01/06 and sold me 6 of them awhile back. At the present time they are 3.5" so 3.5 inches of growth in the last 13 months. It's my belief that Synodontis multipunctatus are faster growing then most of the other Synos and S. petricola in my experience ...

I've got syno petricolas and multipunctatus. petricolas tend to "swim and crawl over more of the rocks than multis. I have spawned many of both. Right now I prefer petricolas. I do have many available, $5 each, 12 for $50, $20 Speedee shipping for their delivery area or $35 Fed ex shipping. See my ...

Sorry, missed your pictures SidGuppy, and I included quotes from you below.... ....."quite different from the irregular spotted rounded dwarf, aren't they? " ....."I have EVERY reason to assume, this is another fish than the dwarf. I've kept and bred dwarves for years (syno's that is ), and if you ...

Picture included for Worton...respone to his reply in October. My syno petricola "dwarfs" (I am assuming). I have yet to see a comparison picture of the "dwarf" vs a "burundi" non dwarf petricola. SidGuppy, maybe you could enlighten us. My adults, I use a group of 6 for breeding. http://webpages ...

Nice pix. Thanks for sharing. As you probably know, these are the so-called "dwarf petricola", quite different from the described Synodontis petricola . Do you know if the parents are wild caught or captive bred? Dinyar Not sure wild vs captive. Yes, they are dwarf petricolas. Do you have a picture ...

I have spawned them with malawi and tangs, however don't expect the eggs to make it with a tank fulls of cichlids....I keep an adult pair with frontosa, 4-9 inches, 12 of the fronts, plus syno multis, peacocks, calvus and comps. THe pair of albino bristlenose plecos do just fine. I keep them in all ...

Re: Multipuctatus housing
I have some multipuctatus that I would like to house in a 55g with some Cyprichromis leptosomas a free swimming fish from Tanganyika. This is a breeding group and I don't want the catfish to stop them from breeding. However, they are a pure open water breeder with females dropping eggs and picking ...

I now have ~150 swimmers, ~8-9 days old. Lost my first batch, tried again with more success. I used cleaner water with plenty of flow this time. My set up is below. For collecting the eggs, I use a clear bowl, with egg crate cut to fit about an inch above the bottom. On top of the egg crate, I lay ...

It is easy to get caught up in tweaking your water to make it just right. A little malawi buffer here, a little tang buffer there, pH up, pH down, a few more dollars here and a few more dollars there. In the end, often you will find that tank raised fish will ofthen do just fine together. If you ...

I have been using Maleri Island peacocks to spawn 1m/2f syno multis, my spawns have been ~20-25 cats. I witnessed spawning on 2 different occasions, it was quite a flurry of eggs all over the place, the cats just release them in large bunches, and the female cichlid scrambles to get them all picked ...
