Can't see a problem with the Sterbai (lots of Discus keepers have them in perams very similar to yours). Re the Pleco's have a browse through these and just eliminate the larger ones (and the non Plecos obviously) and see what takes your fancy. They are all suited to your temp... http://www ...

If you're worried about pleco aggressiveness towards discus, I'd go with L14. L114/600 are cheaper if that's a consideration. Agree with jtgrimes. You could also try setting the intakes an little higher to avoid sucking up so much wood and then siphon the 'wood drift' out daily... One 10ltr bucket should do it... Five minute job.
