I was thinking maybe there's a season for this species to breed ? or maybe I 'll have to wait a big barometer pressure drop and/or full moon ? or something else ... Any idea ? Cheers Charly Well, that might trigger it. I've noticed, that I have especially a lot of eggs when it starts raining the ...

Re: Cory Behaviour in tank

The temp hovers around 28-29 C. The tank has a year old 36W PL lighting. Question: Are cories supposed to be an active lot swimming all over the tank or they are supposed to stay at the bottom. I've noticed the former behaviour only when the cories are first put in the tank. Since you added a ...

Thanks for the tips. I like the idea of putting it into the food. Is there any effect of garlic oil in the water on the bacteria involved in ammonia conversion (they are Gram neg. as well)? On the other hand, if people are using it with Discus fish, it can't be bad :D .

damaged fins or fin rot at newly bought Cories

Dear all,

I have bought today five young panda's. When I took them home I saw one of them with a bad tail and back fin (dorsal fin?), there are pieces missing. As far as I can see, there is no sign of fungus or whatsoever.

In a good environment, will the fins cure back to normal again?

Mine are searching for food about the whole day, except for spawning now and then :D . Sometimes they rest a littlebit, but readily start to search the same spots over and over again.

I don't think I'm underfeeding them, as they are growing very well.

how many cories per square meter/per liter?

Hi, I have a 110 liter/29 gallon (US?) tank and I have (amongst others) a group of 5 cories in it. I would like to add another group of about the same size (4-5 cories) of a different Corydoras species. My bioload is very low, so there is room for some more fish. Is there anything like: too many ...

Some say that a littlebit of salt helps. (a teaspoon every 50 L)

Also a normal pH and softwater helps (instead of hard water which is often also high in pH)
