Re: Breeding L128

Hi Here's a new pic. Unfortunately, it doesn't look good at the moment. I already lost 16 of them the last two days. Seems to be a problem with their yolk sack, which doesn't goes smaller, and becomes white at its end. Because i used every day 100 % freshwater, it is not a problem of water quality ...

Re: Breeding L128

Hi gents About the temperatur, in my view the cat-e-log is completely wrong. I woudn't keep these fish at 22!!! The whole summer i did keep them at 26, and there was no breeding activity at all. In the winter, i raise most of my tanks to 29 - 30. You can see how the fish like this raise, and quit it ...

I'd like to share pics of my newest fry with you. Today, seven fishes did hatch, and there are 47 eggs remaining. Hopefully, at least some ones will grow up healthy.

Re: How sensitive are L177?

I agree that 78°F is a NOGO for Golden Nuggets!! 83°F is absolutely the minimum! I keep mine up to 93°F in "rainy season". Otherwise, the digestion will not work properly, and fresh importet fish mostly die. To respond to your question: If they get right conditions, they are not sensitive at all!

Re: Most beautiful Baryancistrus xanthellus in the world!

Hi The term F2 is used correctly, so the parents really are tank bread. But the F1 were not raised by me. They have been bread in Switzerland some years ago. I think most of you already read about it, and maybe even have seen pics of the grand parents of this fish. I am currently working on a ...

Hi

Thank you all!
Yann, it is F2! But he unfortunately is alone. So as i am aware of, he is the only one F2 in the world :-)

Please ID Peckoltia sp. ?

Hi Gents

Could you please help me to ID these fish.
I bought them as L208, which of course is wrong.
I am guessing about L202?
By the way, it looks like 2 pairs for me.

Thanks a lot!

Re: Please try to ID these Hypancistrus

They are about 10 - 12 cm (TL), and full-grown. Special thing about them is that some (especially males) are nearly black (see first pic). Another detail is that all the fry always have white as "backgroud-color". None of them has a yellow-touch, as often seen on L333's and other Hyps. I also don't ...
