Re: New book on Banjos, Doras and Woodcats
Received it today. A previous mail said there was going to be a "Photocalendar 2022". The calendar didn't arrive or wasn't included in the package. Anyway, as for the book, perused it and it looks great. First quick conclusion, lot's of fun fish in there. Looks very informative and a great addition ...

Re: Indian Hemibagrus
Seems quite active in the video. I have noticed the same with my Horabagrus: they tend to move the sand where they like to hide. Part of it is because they quickly accelerate when swimming. Your Hemibagrus seems even faster. My Horabagrus hide more and are less active now I use a lot of wood and ...

Nice Balaji, great cats. As for Ozzfest, this summer I saw Ozzy performing. It's a miracle he is still performing.

I made the move and I see them during the day now, even the whole group. Best that I could have done for them. I kept the Heros in there with them and they ignore the catfish. So far so good. https://preview.ibb.co/h3iu0T/7.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/g9TSLT/8.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/ejdSLT/9.jpg ...

Re: Biotope tank for Horabagrus brachysoma
An update on the Horabagrus. At this time I have only 2 tanks left. A 300x100x70cm one (2000 liters), and a 200x70x67cm (+- 1000 liters). The 6 x Horabagrus are in the 200cm tank with a Synodontis eupterus, 2 x Chrysichthys, a Polypterus endlicherii (+- 20-25 cm) and some barbs. They used to be in ...

Re: Behavior difference between 5 vs 10 Julii Cory schools?
Yes that was me :) I currently have 31 Corydoras melanistius and I have had them school in a group of 28. In this video you see they staying close, somewhere around minute 2:39. You might want to mute the music as it's not for all :) 4iRoEwH9rWc&t=3s I've put in rocks to get the Guianacara and Heros ...

Thanks, I will go through the links. Funny you thought the looks were due to injuries. They do seem alike. Wonder if anyone can shed some light into the ID. As suggested in the first posts, I think C. brachynema is still as good a guess as any. I haven't seen such a growth as to suggest they get to ...

Re: Chrysichthys spp, woodcats, and unknown. Can you help id these.
We're 2,5 years on. Since the Chrysichthys moved to a 2m tank. Had to do some shuffeling as I'm down to 2 tanks. They are housed with the 6 Horabagrus, 1 Synodontis eupterus, a P. delhezi and some dithers. Here are some new pics. The 2 smaller Chrysichthys are betweel 12-15cm, the bigger one almost ...

Re: My Horabagrus brachysoma
After I've changed my Malawi to a bigger holding tank, I had to move the Horabagrus from that tank. I've setup a 2m tank for them and some Devario malabaricus and Melotaenia. We'll see what happens. Night light is on (just a few leds) just to be on the safe side. That's it. The Horabagrus are way ...

Re: My Horabagrus brachysoma
After putting the malawi I bred in the show tank, I went back to my previous Chalakudy-ish setup. I didn't want to move my various catfish to another tank as they do well in this kind of setup. So the look is a riverine, with good current, lot's of pebbles and rocks, and an oak brach. Lot's of ...

Re: My Horabagrus brachysoma
No, although I could do if I wanted but that would mean shifting around some more fish and I don't have the room right now. Otherwise, the 1100 l indoor pond would be ideal. Sand, rocks, branches of berch or oak, some plants and who knows. I might try it in the future but right now, I enjoy having ...

Re: My Horabagrus brachysoma
Time for a couple of new shots of my Horas. Biggest of the 6 is a female, and I guess near or over 25cm. Rest is just above 20cm. This is guessing, I should really try to measure them. They have been with malawi haps, and in a Asian themed setup. Eventually they ended up with the malawi in a 1100 ...

Horabagrus brachysoma. Very nice form/build/shape/colour, funny character, and not a pain in the behind.
I keep mine with haps and they love it.

Re: Chrysichthys spp, woodcats, and unknown. Can you help id these.
Hehehe :) @Marc I sold the Calophysus to a guy with a bigger tank. At the time, I kept them with a couple of pearsei that I was trying to get to breed. 3m is really not to big for the size they obtained. But they were lovely. Great cats The fish were obtained from that shop. Bijn works in another ...
