Re: CW010 Aeneus Gold Laser breeding...

Mine use to spawn after a filter clean up. More turbulence and better oxygenation seems to do it for them.

Re: Getting freeze dried foods to sink

That's good advice, Eric. Kind of the things I scan all these aquaristic fora in hope to come across. So thanks for sharing. When it comes to freeze dried tubifex I use to drill a hole trough the cube with a small nail. The nail is attached to about a meter of fishing line. I drop the cube in the ...

Re: Microglanis Iheringi

Out of my 6(?) 3 look like they've swallowed a good size grape. The others are slender like Kuhli loaches. I assume the fat ones are ladies. At the time of purchase they all looked about the same. Not the definite answer to your question, but I think girth is how to tell the genders apart.

Hmmm... you might have a mix there. Striped dorsal fins and black dorsal fins. Maybe both sodalis and reticulatus?

Re: Ancistrus male in cave for nearly month

He has probably spawned with another female before the first batch was ready to leave. I'd leave him be. I had one male do the same thing. thought I'd lost him, didn't see him for several weeks. He emerged however around the same time the first fry started to turn up. Had lost some girth though

Re: Make Sterbai Happy

Make sure that cirkulation pump really swirls the surface. I've noticed on my own corys that they get bolder and more active with increased oxygenation. They often spawn too right after a filter cleaning. And yes, it is cause for consern - if they don't snap out of it they will eat less and less and ...

Re: breeding corydoras eques

My corys use to respond well to increased water movement and oxygenation. Combined with live food such as black worms, white worms, grindal(?) worms etc, might do the trick for yours.

Always get your fish from more than one source. Make at least a reasonable effort to avoid inbreeding.

Re: Tips and Tricks

As any keeper of corys can testify to, they are suckers for worms. so to for freeze dried tubifex worms. Only problem is those cubes don't sink and the corys won't come to the surface for food. Well, you can tie a bit of fishing line to a small nail. then gently drill a hole in the tubifex cube with ...

Re: Woodwork in the tank

I use to collect driftwood from the beaches around my area (the southern baltic sea). So far without problem, and those pieces have been in the tanks for years now. Other than that I also collect branches from oak and beech woods. No problem there either. Just make sure the wood is dead and dry ...

The german distributor Glaser has a Cory in stock that looks pretty much like yours. Don't know if the localities match though. Have a look http://www.aquarium-glaser.de/en/corydo ... _1462.html
