The eggs have hatched and the fry have left the cave now, seems to be a good amount that managed to hatch successfully this time. Hoping that they will take food when the yolk is used up in a few days.

Re: REPASHY, i keep seeing this pop up
The carnivore formula is 100% zebra approved in my tanks, both fry and old ones eats this. They also eat the omnivore formula (same as carnivore but with extra green ingredients), but if they get one of each everyone goes for the carnivore. L128 and L134 can easily have both, but with the omnivore ...

Re: REPASHY, i keep seeing this pop up
The combo of "Spawn & grow" with 25% "Soilent Green" was extremly popular by my Zebras and all other hypans before I had my own carnivore and omnivore formulas made which I now use.

Hemiloricaria sp. 'Barcelos' breeding
Got myself a nice group of these last year as a trade for some norwegian breed L236 "Glasers" and some weeks ago I relocated the Barcelos to a bigger and more suitable tank waterparamether wise. Didn't take long before I found a male in a tube cave and even shorter time before I found a female in ...

Re: Hemiloricaria melini spawning again...
I have tried with caves that are open in both ends, with the same result. Today all the eggs were gone as well so I collected all of the females and left the male with the fattest and roundest female. So hopefully they'll get it going again within a few weeks now that they are alone in the tank ...

Re: Hemiloricaria melini spawning again...
It's the male who eats them as it always happens when he's alone in the cave and another female is lurking outside the cave. The females (#3 and #4 etc) aren't let in before the cave is emptied out. But this month not all seven are full of eggs so there's a chance he'll manage to keep track on the ...

Re: Peckoltia sp. L076 spawning w/pics
The Peckoltia sp. L076 fry from the 2nd spawning is growing good, although I haven't started feeding them much yet. It's a month since they hatched and they already show good coloring and a pretty nice size. Facebook gallery: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.437690829651188.1073741829 ...

Help ID this Hemiloricaria…
Can anyone help me ID this Hemiloricaria? I have been tipped off that it might be H. Formosa. So perhaps any of you with better knowledge of the Hemiloricarias then I have some ideas?

Re: Peckoltia sp. L076 spawning w/pics
Yeah, the fry is really colorful althoug they are still pretty young. Two days ago I found the biggest male in the cave with a big round female and when I checked up on them today the male was watching over a big clutch of eggs. So I removed him in the cave w/eggs from main tank to a 85l tank filled ...

Re: Peckoltia sp. L076 spawning w/pics
I wouldn't say it would be impossible, but it might be a bit expensive to ship 'em from Norway to the UK... Unless we just ship 'em as regular Airmail and see if that works out, been shipping L107, Aspidoras and Hoplosternums locally here in Norway and one shipment took four days as the buyer ...

The group decided to squeeze in another spawning before the end of 2012, new eggs where found on December 29th. So the cave and male moved into the hatching tank again.

Peckoltia sp. L076 spawning w/pics
Our wild-caught group of six fully adult L076 decided to spawn during December as they probably overheard us saying they where to be sold next year since they didn't produce anything. Last week I discovered that the backwall of their tank and driftwood was covered in young ones, 12-13 mm in size I ...

Re: Hypancistrus sp. Guaviare breeding
Sorry, I don't have any more or better photos of the fish than what's posted so far. I don't think it has an official name yet or L-number so that's probaby why ...

Hypancistrus sp. Guaviare breeding
Got hold of a group of eight wild import individuals some weeks ago, this group originally was imported to Norway back in April 2012 from Rare Aquatics, UK. ID is Farlowella platorynchus.
And the eggs just started hatching last night, at least one of them so far so I guess the rest will follow.

Here's one of the eight that arrived in Norway this spring, the group has just been relocated from Lillehammer to our facility in Bergen - not the best photo as it was taken the same night they arrived after 12h transportation.

Many thanks for your input Apistomaster. I think I'm in the right track now and each day now new eggs are discovered and the oldest of them have already got the coloring as the adults. I will rig up a few 75l tanks at our breeding facility and see if I can get them to continue the breeding there ...

Re: Coryodoras Hastatus breeding
Yeah, keeping them away from eggeaters and preferably alone with small shrimps is probably the way to go. I keep them in 24-25 degreess and the ph varies from 6.8 to 7.4. The good things is that now it's possible to get these spread around the country. It's almost impossible to get hold of C ...

Coryodoras Hastatus breeding
Some weeks ago I started noticing a few eggs here and there in my 150l C. hastatus tank after I put them alone in this tank with only a few Orange Sakurashrimps.... I only had seven wild caught individuals, which never got any any surving eggs since they temporarily shared a tank with C. Delphax. I ...
