How hard is it to take care of them?
Is there a list of stuff I need? I should get grass for them to play on?

MalleMalle, what do you feed that thing!?
Hah, mine barely eats at all. The only time I've seen him eat is when I've dropped a shrimp pellet close enough to his face, or he sees it, then he opens his mouth like a Hoover and sucks it all up. The other fish probably outcompete him for food ...

I have a Dojo in a 55-gallon. The max temperature he's been introduced to is probably around 82-86°±
F. They would even do fine in a 10-gallon. I'm going set my heater to 80° from now on though. I had two, but one "escaped" and was found dried up on the floor. Had him for several years now, and ...

Why would they treat driftwood for reptiles? I boiled it anyway. The only thing that would be "bad" that I could see was that it was a lot of pieces of driftwood screwed together. The fish can't really get to the screws though, but I decided to take them out yesterday, because the current formation ...

Do other types of catfish also need driftwood? I've got some Ottos, and occasionally I see them on the driftwood. And how big a piece of driftwood do you need for these guys? My ugly driftwood is pretty big and takes up quite some space. I'd like to take it out if I can and let the fish have more ...

What happens if they aren't kept in a shoal? When I think of shoaling fish, I think of small Tetras like Neons, and people usually say that the bare minimum is 6 fish, and the more the better. Some people use Ottos for algae eating in smaller size tanks, which I'm sure they can't afford to keep more ...

I got some "driftwood" at PetCo in the reptiles section, but the only problem is that it looks ugly, but I wanted at least some kind of driftwood for my Plėco, just in case. Maybe I'll be able to find some at the beach this summer or something. Anyone know of any places to buy driftwood online other ...

Ottos kept in small groups, pairs, or singly?
They are voracious eaters. They keep on sucking on anything and everything. Although right now my Angel and Rosy like to take big chunks out of the lettuce I put in the tank, and they make a mess. A lot of uneaten lettuce floats to the top and just floats around making a mess. I probably won't have ...

Any scientific backing to driftwood helping P|eco digestion?
I've always heard that Plėcos rasp on driftwood (there are so many different kinds, so how do you know what works) to help aid with digesting their food. Albeit many people claim this, but I haven't seen it in any scientific journal or anything like that. Anyone know?

What is the Smallest, Most Common Corydoras Specie?
What is the smallest (adult size in inches) Corydoras specie (scientific and common name) commonly found at pet stores? There are so many Cory Cats in the catalog, and you can't sort them by data. A group of Clown Loaches would be too big once they get near the adult size, so I was thinking about a ...

First Silurus and now Pturley. I never quite got what's with the snide elitist comments. My fish aren't outside in a pond or anything, it's a regulated indoor aquarium, just like most normal fish hobbyist have. You guys need to go ask your mothers to teach you some manners, and maybe you'll learn ...

Banjo Catfish doesn't like the sand?
I bought some Carib-Sea Tahitian Moon sand for my Banjo Catfish and my Dojo Weather Loach, but none of them like burrowing into the sand? I think my Dojo has burrowed into gravel before, but that was a long time ago. My Dojo likes to hang out on the sand, but I haven't seen him burrow yet, and my ...

Banjo Catfish: What kind of Sandy Substrate?
I currently have some Banjo Catfish on order and I want to know what type of sandy substrate I should get to put into my tank. I want the Banjo to be able to burrow into the sand, but I don't want the sand to be getting sucked into the intake of my power filter tube. I'd also like a dark color sand ...
