Re: Crossocheilus Langei
Thanks,
I've spoken with several tropical shops locally. Fins wont sell me one as they have had bad experiences of adult fish turning into bullies. Trop Shop is still waiting on prices and availability.
Anyone know of a stockist in south east Essex area?

Crossocheilus Langei
Hello,
I'm after one of these 'true' Siamese Algae eaters please.
I believe the Langei has barbels and a pronounced lateral stripe with red markings on the eyeball above the pupil. Which other SAEs do not.
Thanks,
Andy.

Flying Fox & Siamese Algae Eater
A local tropical fish shop to me says they sell Siamese Algae Eaters but they call them Siamese Flying Foxes.
I'm still very much learning about different species but I thought Flying Foxes and Siamese Algae Eaters are very different.
Although they may look similar their diets are quite different ...

Re: On the scrounge!
Many thanks Martin!
Just got home to find a jiffy package with two bits of hose.
Thank you very much!
How do I 'rate' or give some one a thumbs up for helping out? A lot of forums you can click on an icon to do that. On here its called gratitude but I cant find how to?

Re: On the scrounge!
Is the inlet for the tetratec hard 12mm? If you look down the heater from above, it takes 16mm at the top and 12mm lower - I just cut the hard pipe so I had about 6" straight past the bend and that goes down into the heater. I kept finding air got into the system using the adapter, hopefully you ...

Re: On the scrounge!
I have a tetratec ex600 filter. I'm using a hose joiner to join the 12mm tetra hose to 16mm rena fittings. Just looks a bit pants with bright yellow hose.
Much appreciate your help.
Thanks!!!

Hello all,
Just got the connector adaptor for my rena smart heater but I need an off cut of proper aquarium 16mm hose.
At the mo I'm using an off cut of food grade rubber hose but its bright yellow and sticks out like a sore thumb.
I'm blatantly begging for a 3" length of clear 16mm hose. Would ...

Any other catfish keepers in Essex?
Just wondering if there's any shops that are better than others in Thurrock/Basildon/Southend areas, basically along the A13 or A127
I've been to the Trop Shop in Grays. They seem very helpful but in my opinion a bit pricey?
Also been to Fins Aquatics at Thurrock Garden centre and extremely helpful ...

L number Plecs
Hello,
I admit a bit advanced notice but at the end of september I'd like to get some L number plecs.
I'm after fish that are mainly veg/algae eaters and no larger than 6" when fully grown.
I've done some research and the following seem to match my 'wants'
L017, L208, L270, L271, L328, Dwarf ...

Hello from Essex
Hello,
I've just started up a larger tropical tank; approx 100 litres.
(external filter that will turn the tank over about 5 to 6 times an hour, Rena heater set to 26 degree C and two disc air diffusers set under pea gravel. Tank is moderately planted)
