IMO this is an instance of "lumpers" vs "spliters" and personally feel that if you have a catch location you should keep it pure.

In a tank that size and wanting tight groups I'd go with like 30-50 Pygmeaus

Re: Corys in an outdoor pond
I've done several of the dwarf species and a couple Aspidoras, the only time I've had success was with the addition of some current be it sponge filter or powerhead. Last year I did Aspidoras spilotus and A. sp C118 in different 55g tubs with a powerhead and hornwart very successfully. Spilotus was ...

it took me some time to figure that out.

Re: L95 turning white.
This phenomenon is not unheard of. Amazonas had an article about it, it's not limited to just one species or genus and the reason is still unknown if I recall correctly. Is the fish in this photo ( image.php?image_id=16341 , Rhinelepis strigosa ) experiencing the same decoloration, or is this the ...

If the behavior is fine I wouldn't worry. Keep photographing the fish, it may slowly revert back to its original colors.

cf. Literally means "confer." An animal appears similar to an identified species, but without certainty or confirmation. http://www.planetcatfish.com/general/general.php?article_id=439 If you are referring to your reds, they are a selectively bred tank strain, not a wild type fish, so no location.

Re: L333 Black and White?
The true "L333" as it is quite variable, has kinda become a gray area. Many fish from the Xingu are all lumped into the L333 name, only time will tell what's what. This article should give you an idea of why it's so confusing. http://www.reef2rainforest.com/2014/04/05/chaos-in-black-white/ Your ...

Re: Sump Corys
Have you considered adding the whole lot to the 75g? I'm not sure what your stock levels are like but the larger the tank and group the more impressive it is. Corys are a very social fish and the bigger the group the more active they will be.

I never fast the fish unless away on vacation or plan on shipping them in the next few days.

Re: L262 pleco
I don't believe they have been looked at close enough genetically to make that determination. Their is considerable variation amongst the L136 as it is that needs to be sorted without adding L262 to the mix. Until described I would keep everything separate.

L004 would only get mixed in in with northern species L201 or Hypancistrus contradens at importers, which is unlikely, so it's much more likely that your fish is H. lunaorum . Just on stats / export area. That was my thoughts on this D. amazonica has an orange distal edge to the unpaired fins which ...

Re: Grey Nosed Peppered?
The likely source of the problem is probably the large rough substrate. For most corys digging is a natural behavior as seen in the first picture. The jagged edges of the gravel are likely scratching his nose, which in turn can lead to infection and/or permanent damage. Even if this is not the exact ...

at a glance I would say Corydoras duplicareus using the rule of thumb on the black band but the band width can be variable. The only way to know for certain is to look for the serrations. "According to the description C. duplicareus has serrations on the posterior edge of the pectoral fin spine ...
