Petricola
From my own experience, I had to wait till my F1 fry were almost 30 months of age and 2.5" in size. I have read that they can breed younger but do not know that myself. I have no idea how old the WC parents were when they bred for me, but have been breeding regular for about 4 years now. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon/biggrin.gif)

Breeding Syno. Polli
I have acquired a group of 9 adult wild caught Syno.Polli, is there any info on breeding them? Has anyone here successfully kept/bred them? All info would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick ![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon/confused.gif)

Albino Bristlenose cannibalism
I have had a number of batchs of fry hatch, but seem to loose some of late when new born. Is it possible they are being eaten by the older fry or parents while they still have the yolk sack and have first emerged from the cave?
Thanks in advance for replies.

I do use the pot and marble set up. The eggs are very small and almost clear, so very difficult to see. Once you have found a few, it gets easier. Use dark marbles, it helps greatly in seeing the eggs stuck to them. I am using dark brown, tried pure black, but they must be use to the brown as they ...

While my male Petricola does kind of try to coax the female into the cave to breed by gently rubbing up against her as you call glidding, it eventually turns into him chasing the heck out of her, then back to coaxing, and so on, until she finally goes into the cave. They then swim in circles inside ...

petricola youngsters
I have been raising Syno Petricola for quite some time, the parents being WC, and there fry usually all look the same. However, I do get light coloured and even white/pearl coloured ones in every other batch. They are somewhat blotchy in appearance until about 1 month or so, if they live as they ...

 Wow, I keep dozens of petricola of various sizes in the same tank, and have witnessed fighting, but not to the degree of bodily injury like that. I agree with rearanging the the decor or adding some new hiding spots, but you may also want to try and quarantine the largest in a trap housed ...

Petricola Cannibalism
Got the link Barbara, and yes I have had troubles in the past with 2 - 4 week old fry eating new hatched ones, but typically if they are all from the same hatch I have not witnessed any of the larger ones eating the small ones. As a matter of fact my recent hatch of about 100 or so fry, I am ...

Petricola
Wow, you guys/gals have me really scratching my head. The pix that Sid posted of his Burundi Petricola, which I have yet to find any reference to, look identical to the wild caught ones I have been breeding for quite some time. I do not have the ability to post pix in this forum or I would just to ...

Re: A few newbie questions about S. petricola
" Some of them (I never see them all out in the open at once, so its hard to tell) seem to have really fat, pink bellies. "
Hi there, I do not always see my cat's eat, but I do know that when the fry have round pink bellies it is because they are full. This is especially true, very pink, when they ...
