Re: White mould or fungus on bogwood
I am not a huge fan of Barbs. They are a nice looking fish but in my experience can be a bit aggressive. I like the idea of a Panaque Maccus. Are they ok with Corys? my tank is quite busy at the lower levels would like be ok for a Panaque Maccus?

Re: White mould or fungus on bogwood
I was just concerned that it could have a detrimental effect on the fish. I have read that Cory’s are predisposed to Bacterial problems. But if the general consensus is its ok I shall leave it and see what happens. The fish are my first priority personal aesthetics are not important to me. I would l ...

White mould or fungus on bogwood
I am looking for some advice regarding bog wood. I have a tank which is about a year and a half old. It mainly houses Corydoras but I also have some Ember Tetras in there as well. The tank has a gravel bottom and is furnished with Mopani wood, Java fern and also Anubias. I decided to remove the ...

Re: Corys in Nano Tanks
I do like the look of the Fluvale Edge it dose look very modern but it looks a nightmare to maintain. I think there is very restricted access I am guessing you can only gain access thought the combined filter and light at the top. I not a big fan of tanks witch come with filters and bits included. I ...

Corys in Nano Tanks
Nano tanks are gaining a lot of popularity in recent years and most articles suggest that pygmy Corydoras are suitable. I know that smaller volumes of water are harder to maintain but that aside I am interested to know is realistically if one was to have 3-6 pygmy Corys but no other fish what would ...

Are long / saddle nosed Corys Agressive
I have read that long nosed / saddle nose Corydoras are aggressive I am just wondering if any one has any experience of this? Are they aggressive towards other normal nosed Cory’s or are they just aggressive towards other long nosed Cory’s . The reason I ask is I am thinking of getting some Sep ...

Great looking tank looks very realistic. Looks like you have some happy healthy fish. One of them looks like a nicely rounded female.

Re: corydoras sp. black
I have yet to come across any in a shop, but if I did I would have to buy some! It may be a Corydoras Venezuela which at the moment it is deemed to be a variation of Aeneus (but this is up for debate it has been speculated that it could be a different species). That aside it should like similar ...

Best light for Albino Corys
I am just wonder I have a tank which I am just setting up which I plan on housing only Albino Aeneus Corys in. I have read that they have poor eye site and that they do not like bright light. I am intending on putting artificial plants in so that I do not have to worry about plant lighting ...

Re: Coming up for air change in Panda behaviour
I don’t think it is Gill Flukes but I have no experience of this problem. From what I have read if a fish has Gill Flukes the fishes gills would be red possibly some mucus discharge and the fish would be scratching and rubbing against things. My fish is not showing any of these symptoms apart from g ...

Change in Panda behaviour. I have five panda Corydoras in my main tank I have had them for about a year and have never had any health problems with them. They have a good body shape and eat well and are generally happy fish. But I am bit concerned about one of them as with in the last couple of ...

I have tried to take some photos but the quality is very poor and you cant make anything out. I will try again but it is difficult to take a photo when they are on the bottom of the tank.

Re: Corydoras similis (smudge spot)
I have got some Similis Corys in a large mixed Cory tank. I saw them at a fish shop and had to have some. They seam to be quite rare I have not seen any for sale in my area for some time. I think that they are one of the prettiest Corys around I really like there markings. Yes they are a little shy ...

Panda Cory Curved Spine
I have 5 small Panda Cory’s about 15 mm long and at least 2 appear to have a small curve in there spine and I am wondering if this is normal in juvenile fish. I did not notice this when I purchased the fish as they where very small. I have noticed with my other Cory’s that some times they curve the ...

Re: Please help my Corys keep dieing
I use a gravel vac which I push it down to the bottom of the tank wait for the debris to clear then move on to the next spot. I vac all the open areas of the tank once a week with the water change. Then once a month I lift up all the pices of bog wood and clean under them all. My plants are attached ...

Please help my Corys keep dieing
I am very distressed. My Cory keep dieing and I don’t know what to do. Please can you help. I would like to think I am a reasonably competent fish keeper. I have kept fish off and on most of my life. Gold fish when I was very young. Then when I was in my teens I had cold water and also tropical fish ...
