I feed them xtreme scraper wafers.
Yes I was surprised to see them devour the zucchini I do have a rhino pleco in the tank and maybe they picked up the idea from that fish. I am using the xtreme wafers so I'm glad to hear someone else has had success with them. I ...

MY L25 project
I found someone who had a group of L25 for sale. Of the 9 fish I got 8 made it through with no issues, one was lost a few days later. My groups are split by size 4" fish in one tank, 5+ inch fish in the other.
I currently have them split into two groups of 4 fish. One tank is 8.5 feet long and 300 ...

Okay folks, first let me say thanks to all those who ordered over the past two months. I'm overloaded with orders and it looks like I'll be cutting rocks until mid January. Just to be fair to me and you I've decided not take any new orders until February 1 of 2013.

Re: Emergency Tank Repair Options!
I just saw this thread and I can say if your tank is that much trouble sell it now. You can't fix a tank from the outside just like Viktor said the forces are too great. I repair tanks all the time, and the proper way is to drain them and do it from the inside. Also if one seal leaks the whole tank ...

I just got all caught up with your project and I see it has it's ups and downs. I'll offer a few tips that I learned the hard way. I've been down a road like this when I finished building my house after 2 builders went bankrupt trying to build it for me. I found the couty to be very helpful ...

Just an update for the end of 2012 there will be no caves with openings deeper than 6 inches. My supply yard is out of larger stones until January. I can do caves with openings up to six inches deep, width upto 3 inches, height up to 2.5 inches until the new orders of stone come in.

I used to live in New Jersey and love this store, it would be too bad if the new owners aren't keeping up the old standards. I know a bunch of people in the area and I'll get the info from people who know the store and it's current conditions.

Brackish water start around 0.5ppt (ppt = parts per thousand) or 500 ppm. However, I think this is SALINITY, rather than "TDS", so you need to understand how much of your TDS is sodium chloride salt and how much is "other stuff", such as Calcium & Magnesium salts.

Re: Colombian shark catfish? Please help!!!!
Keeping a single fish could have been a major part of my issue, along with other factors. As for the hunting/eating other than cutting it open I couldn't be 100% sure, but when my 15 neon tetras went to 4 over night that fish was pretty swollen with something in it's stomach. The next day the last 4 ...

It's about 7.5 inches/20cm and was the largest of six that I could choose from. Luckily I know the person has had them for a few months so after a 3 hour water exchange acclimation I was able to release it into my 240 gallon display tank.

There is a person Unungy Imports that gets them but they run about $800 per fish for the 4-6 inch. Way too much for my small pockets. We can only hope that since they are off the banned list they will return at more affordable prices.

I was thinkig it would be nice to go out and see what I can find in the wild. Here in Florida getting an importers license is pretty easy, just fill out the papers and pay the fee. Knowing what I was going to bring home ahead of time would be a little tricky because it would depend on what I find ...
