Bushies by far from my experience. Recently put one about 4 inches in my 105 gal. African tank that had a few rocks covered in algae...little guy had it cleared up completely in about 2 days...not to mention the glass is sparkling as well.

I recently bought one about 2 inches for $20. He's in a 50 gallon tank with community fish and 3 other plecs (Royal, Candystripe, and Red Fin Sternella)...and he's doing fine. All 4 plecs hang out in the same general area and I've never seen one scrum...strange but true.

Then again maybe you're right and the Electric finally got tired of living in his scales and ripped them off himself. Yea...that makes much more sense...especially ...

My Royal is about the same size and shares my 105 gallon with a Queen, Gold Nugget, and Zebra. They do great together. I say add away! :)

Wondering how many plecos is too many...

I have a 105 gallon African tank with a Royal, Queen, Gold Nugget, Zebra, and two Synodontis petricolas. I have an affinity for plecos and am wondering when enough is enough...i.e. to be sure there is enough food to go around for all. Things have been working fine as is but would it be ok to add 1-2 ...

muridae, My Royal is in my 105 gal. African tank along with a Queen and a Gold Nugget and he does fine. I never see any of them giving each other grief. Not sure what is up with Rexy...maybe it's just his personality. tongue1 Also, I find it a bit odd when I hear people say Royals need to be in ...

Not sure if they sell it over there, but I think the product Johnny is referring to is 'BioSpira'. It's an overnight water conditioner packed with beneficial bacteria (that's about as technical as I get) that basically completes the cycling process overnight. I've used it many times when starting up ...
