Importance of treating your pleco to snacks...
This is just to show how much most carnivorous or omnivorous fish can enjoy a live snack once in a while. This L-264 got a snack of a full dispenser of worms about 2-3 times a week along with the rest of his diet. He grew extremely fast and was very active and social, even while the 10000k bulbs ...

In my opinion, it is not too shy a fish. I have an 8" that I have had for abotu a year now, and although he doesn't come out often, it doesn't differ much from my other L numbers. My L-46 come out more often, but that is because they are pigs and any sort of food drives them into frenzies. With this ...

It is said that they have not been bred, but I have heard that they have by at least one breeder. Well, the breeder is in I believe Brazil, and works for a fish exporter, and apparently has been able to get L128 to breed pretty frequently, so that bodes well for L200 since they are supposedly the ...

May I suggest L-128, L-200 is good too, but L-128 seems to be a bit hardier than the L200 color morph, and is a bit more striking in color. This is a horrible pic, but this is my 7-8" L128.

He isn't referring to the actual fish being like this description, he is asking if anyone has ever heard of marketing/sales strategies like this... And sadly, yes, it is common for uneducated LFS employees to make statements such as this. In all honesty, I don't think the rhino is really all that ...

Suggestions for some L-46
I am finally obtaining a group of 8 L-46, and hoping to get another group or 2, try to get these guys spawning and more prolific in the hobby. I am probably not the best person to attempt this, but I shall try. I was wondering, I have heard many people claim to have success with varying temperatures ...

I'd be seriously surprised to see them being offered retail at $50 this year. The cheapest I have seen them on WHOLESALE lists is $60. I've only seen them available at all on 3 lists, as opposed to the usual dozen. 3 years ago I bought a dozen of them at $20 each. I wish I hadn't sold so many of ...

I would say go for the longer tank, the bigger the footprint the better usually...... As for dealing with filtration, since I only keep african cichlids and plecos, I usually am the same about filtration. I generally try to have enough filtration to cycle the water through the tank 8X or more per ...

Since you have the yellow lab, and are going with other rift lake species it seems, you are going to have a relatively high PH. All of my malawi tanks seem to do best in a 7.8-8.6 range, fish being better colored and more active. That's a pretty high ph for many plecos. Many common ancistrus that ...

Ok, to start off, whether or not they seemed to be doing well on the previous water change routine, they probably weren't so hot, because after all one ended up buying the farm. As for cleaning the filter, the reason you don't clean the filter every water change is because beneficial bacteria grows ...

Aquarium center. That store has been going straight down the tubes since they changed management, overpricing and killing stock, mismarked fish, etc. But then we were there buying some supplies and lo and behold a tank full of zebras. As to the question of whether or not F1s are present, they are in some areas of the U.S. more so than others. There are some breeders across the country who have gotten constant and prolific spawns, you just need to look hard for them. Most of them will ship too, so even if you don't live near one ...

What has been said so far regarding them is rather accurate. Recently when visiting an ...

Questions on L047 and sexing/spawning.
Recently I found some decent sized L047 for a decent price of $40 a piece(for them decent at least). They are all around 3-5" in size, and I purchased one today. I was hoping to hear if anyone knew how I could go about venting them to discover sex, possible ratios, etc. I have never heard of anyone ...
