My L114 is a garbage disposal, he eats most anything but heavily prefers meaty foods like shrimp and mussels. Their aggression definitely increases w/ size and age. They're fast growers like Janne said. Mine put 4"s on in less than a year. Mine is relatively intollerant of all the other Lori's in ...

This seems to be a local color varriant of Panaqolus Albomaculatus ... it seems the ones coming out of Iquitos are "oranger" in coloration than the described "yellowish" colored spots of P. Albomaculatus... Yann is exactly correct Julio has had these in and out of stock for the last couple of years ...

I already answered this on another board but might as well here too. I'll concur w/ L201 and take it a step further, I think the two smaller spot ones are males (you can obviously see heavy odontal growth on the leading edge of the pectorals and between the dorsal and tail) and the larger spot I'll ...

@ Yann- AFAIK, L numbers were meant as a guide for ID'ing Loricariids and are simply that a guide to help ID the unclassified. To say that a given L# can only be used for a certain location of any given species of pleco seems ludicrous to me. If this was the case then why do we not yell at everyone ...

I think $50 a piece is a great deal if you can house these guys. I too have seen Spat's available in the $20 range, but they're alway's Spat. "Tiger" which is a much less astetically appealing Spatuloricaria. The "marbled" and "chameleons" have always been in the $40 to $50 range (US$) and that was ...

Pseudohemiodon Apithanos
I'm looking for information on the "Itaya Chameleon Loricaria", Pseudohemiodon Apithanos. Specifically I'm interested in max size (I've heard about 7"s but would like to verify) and dietary information. I know they're found south of Iquitos alongside of Stingrays and more so Planiloricaria Cryptodon ...

I'm a big fan of HBH, espescially HBH Graze. You can buy it in bulk at http://www.jehmco.com for great prices.
As far as feeding fish I haven't had any troubles w/ saltwater fish but I've had better success w/ fresh shellfish, mainly mussels and prawns.

I'm leaning towards L. Simillima too. These are wild fish as the store I got them through recieved 3 of them two days prior to me purchasing them. Unfortunately the LFS said they received shipments from Brazil (they didn't know where in Brazil), Lima and Bogota on that day. So I can't really pin ...

Achim... I've read that article but my German is horrid, to say the least, and the translators seem to mess up the part about sexing the fish. Can you or someone else let me know the proper way to sex them acording to the article???

Anyone have any information on this loricariid other than what's in the Cat-elog or in the Aqualog? I just ran into one @ the LFS on Friday and decided to pick it up on a whim. It's currently in a planted Quarentine tank w/ an adolescent pair of Apisto "Pucalapa Gold". Seems to be an omnivore ...

If you're looking @ "commons" they're farmed or Domestic for the most part. If you're looking at "fancy" (I hate that term) most are Wild, while some stores are supported by local breeders on the more common ones like Bristlenose. Heck there's even a couple stores up here that only sell F1 zebras ...

Does anyone have any experience keeping or articles relating to Megalancistrus Gigas or other Megalancistrus sp.? Even the scientific description would be nice.
