Hi,
Have you had your water parameters tested recently? High nitrates can cause flashing. How often do you change your carbon? It should be replaced every 2 weeks at the most because after that it will re-release chemicals back into the tank. Another cause for flashing is external paracites so a ...

I can honestly say I do not have nitrates and over the last few years the most I have ever had is less than 10ppm. I have a very good bio going. Hi,
It is hard to see but there is a saucer {that you put underneath potted plants}, that the sand sits in. I know this because this is my tank my daughter put the picture on this forum for me. Hi, all :d great forum so decided to join.

Cories are very sensitive to nitrates so I would try to get your nitrates down to zero if possible or less than 10 if not. I do a test for nitrates when I see them scratching and almost always its over 10 and after a water change they are fine. If you are having trouble with nitrates try ...
