Re: BN Plecos in discus tank?
Thanks for the reply. That settles it for me, I'll add em and see what happens. While I'm at it, I'll add my otos since this setup is still in diatom mode -_-

Re: BN Plecos in discus tank?
These are just your regular old brown/albino bristlenose plecos. I don't want to put them in there and have them be miserable lol.

BN Plecos in discus tank?
Any opinions on keeping BN's in a discus tank? I have a well planted 125 discus tank that stays around 84, is this temp too much for them? I've always kept my bn's at room temp, so I'm just curious if I should pick another species or not. Ideally I'd like to put my breeders in there, although I've ...

Question about bn's and genetics
Hi. I got a group of bn's last year and now they are breeding. I was told that they all come from the same parents, so they are all related. In the group is 2 shortfin calicos, 2 longfin browns, 1 longfin calico, and a longfin albino. I'm finding babies everywhere and I habe no clue which ones are ...

Re: Corys and Shipping...?
I'm definitely using regular 2 mil bags and a bit of pure o2, I'll make sure there's a bit of regular air in there also. I'm gonna freak em out a little bit, and then change the water a few minutes later, just in case.

Re: Corys and Shipping...?
Okay. I will double bag them using extra water as well. I lost 2 out of the original breeding group through overnight shipping. They had them separated in 2 breather bags, 7 fish in total. Had one doa in each bag and one that nearly died while acclimating. The water looked clean visually, albeit a ...

Re: Corys and Shipping...?
Thanks for the informative post. I am sending some of my black corys out on monday, express shipping. These guys are still small, about 1/4-1/2 full size, so hopefully they will ship well. I will take heed to the pure o2 thing. I have an o2 tank but I'll be sure to mix it with regular air a bit ...

Corys and RCS?
I'm trying to find out if anyone has any firsthand experience with mixing corydoras and RCS? I know the adults are safe, but what about the baby shrimp? I am using my planted shrimp tank as a growout for some of my cory fry, and they really seem to enjoy it in there, but I need to move them if they ...

Re: 2nd attempt of hatching eggs from albino Cory. Need help
Oh also, another thing that seems to help, is to get some floating plants, like anacharis. They will lay eggs on them, and it makes retrieving the eggs much easier, as you can clip the plant with the eggs attached as needed.

Re: 2nd attempt of hatching eggs from albino Cory. Need help
I just put mine in a plastic container of tank water, I try to get them somewhat separated, but if they are stuck together i just keep them together. I put a lid on the container and then check it every day for fungus. I put a few drops of h2o2 in there the first few days. No water changes. That's ...

Re: Corys and Shipping...?
thanks for the reply. I'll be sending them off as juveniles anyway so I hope that this doesn't become an issue. I'm still up in the air about using standard poly bags with o2 vs breather bags.

Corys and Shipping...?
Hi everyone. I was just hoping someone could fill me in on the best method to ship corys. I bought a group of adult corydoras schultzei (black) and had them sent express, but still ended up losing 2 in transit. They were packaged well, insulated and in breather bags, the box didn't appear to be ...
