After reading all the posts, my first impression, if you haven't actually seen them fighting, is something is scaring them and the wounds are a result of them bashing/hitting themselves on objects in the tank or each other. Just an update to let everyone interested know that my Syno is now 27 years old and still going!

New picture! I don't know how many I took, but I gave up and this is the best. 25 years and still going strong!
