Yeah, I heard about that so I have a piece of driftwood in my tank. I know this brings the PH down so I have aragonite and crushed coral substrate. My pleco seems to like hanging out on the wood, but it doesn't chew on the wood. I'm thinking about buy more cave-like structures to see if that reduces ...

In my tank, I have some cyp. leptosoma, peakcocks, leleupi, yellow lab, lab. hongi, and clown loaches. Everyone seems to get along except for the pleco and syno as aggression is limited to minor chasing. All my bottom-feeders are generally ignored. As for water paremeters, I'm not sure if an african ...

Syno attacking my L-72
I have a 46gallon bowfront with cichlids from Malawi and Tang. I'm concerned about my syno (sp. 5) and pleco (L-72) because my syno appears to have been hunting down my pleco these past two nights. Normally, my pleco hangs out on the driftwood in the middle of the tank while my syno hides in a vase ...

I have found a mild case of ich in my tank and have treated the tank with about 2 - 2.5 tablespoons of salt per 5 gallons and raised the temp to 88 F without any apparent signs of stress. My synodontis is the ornatipinnis hybrid so I'm not sure how sensitive it is relative to other synos. It's only ...

Thanks Yann....so Artemia is brine shrimp, correct? I actually have some spirulina enriched brine shrimp (not sure if it's just a gimmick or for real) but have been holding off as I'm trying to make my fish eat more vegetable matter. What is the common name for Gammarus? I'll try putting some brine ...

I'm not sure. It might be because my cat is still a juvenile (or vice versa) but the front half looks different. The pattern on my cat's front half isn't connected, but more spotty. But the second half looks similar. I was told that the cat was very rare, but I have no way of verfying this. I took ...

That's what I'm afraid of...I have a mix and so far I've been able to get away with feeding OSI spirulina flakes first for mbuna, then spectrum cichlid formula pellets for the haps and frontosa. I've really tried to keep from putting in blood worms or brine shrimp as I want to feed these bimonthly ...

Synodontis Ornatus or Tourei?
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and world of catfish. I'm trying to figure out which catfish I have. My LFS told me it was a synodontis ornatus, but my catfish looks more like the tourei. It's brown with white stripes on its fins and rear half of its body and has spots on the front half. I've ...

I have a few more questions regarding my pleco. What is the best way to feed it? In the Cat-eLog, it says it's omnivorous, but everytime I try to put blood worms into the tank, my other fish (african cichlids) eat it. I also have 3 clown loaches and a synodontis ornatus (i think) in the tank. I've ...

I just bought this pleco but haven't been able to find any information on it. I've been told the common name is Yellow Princess Tiger. Does anyone know where I can get more information regarding it? Thanks.
