Re: what was the highlight of CatCon for you?
As with the others, the highlight of this (and most any) convention was the people. Out of all the conventions I have been to, I think I enjoyed myself the most at this one. Meeting new people that I have talked with in forums and chat rooms (like Gossei and TwoTankAmin), sharing a room with 3 other ...

Re: About C numbers and how we can interact with them
C numbers were given out by the German magazine DATZ and Hans Evers. They don't handle this any longer, so Ian Fuller assigns CW numbers on his website corydorasworld.com. These numbers have no scientific basis at all. They are strictly a way for hobbyists to have some sort of order, very similar to ...

Re: Scleromystax barbatus Info?
I have been breeding barbatus for 3 years now. As the post above mentions, a day or so after a cold water change they will breed. I have a terrible time getting a good hatch rate, but every few spawns result in 100% success for some reason. If I get them to hatch, fry are generally easy to raise and ...

They are likely just selling it under the name their supplier sold it to them under. It happens, and unless the store is a specialist in plecos, they are just going to go with the info they were given.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. I have a group of these and they truly are very underrated. A mature male is stunning with the high dorsal.

Re: Good camera to photograph by fish.
I recently purchased a Nikon D3200 and love it so far. It is my first DSLR and real easy to use. I have been playing with it for a month now and have gotten some pretty good shots. Now I just need to save up for a macro lens, it costs more than the camera!

No complaints at all Frank. I could be one of the easiest people to get along with, as long as I feel I am being treated fairly. You have gone above and beyond in your communication and allowing me access to such great fish. I truly appreciate everything you have done for me.

Re: C091 spawned
I did mention it in our first emails about the shipment. I am in no way upset about it, as we discussed it has no effect on the well being and lifespan of the fish. I was simply making a joke since it is sort of visible in that picture. It was in no way a comment on you or the quality of your fish ...

Re: C091 spawned
Thanks everyone. I am not real certain on the water conditions. I know my water is fairly hard where I live and pH is slightly below 7 out of the tap. They are in straight tap water. I really should get a test kit so I can fill out more complete breeding logs and answer questions like this. I can ...

C091 spawned
I had a great opportunity to get a group of Corydoras C091 earlier this year. I am very happy with the fish overall, and down right excited that they have already spawned for me. The fry are approaching 90 days old, and have recently really taken on the appearance of the adults. The fertalization ...

Re: baby Ancistrus cf_cirrhosus with white stripe on caudal
It is most likely a common Ancistrus. The young will have the white along the fins, and as they grow it will fade out. If it were true dolicoptrus, it would likely be very expensive and not thriving in the store, unless it is an exceptional lfs, as they have very specific needs that most stores (at ...

I give mine slices of zucchini that have been boiled for two minutes or so. I cut and cook a whole zucchini at a time and freeze it, then thaw each portion as needed. This along with algae wafers have kept mine happy and healthy for a while.

Re: ID Corydoras. please
I would think would be more likely. They are a much more common find in stores, plus it has a little black in the dorsal, which the C156 doesn't have.
