I think that the low pH is causing stress and increasing susceptibility to illness. pH fluctuations might be occurring as well. Check your pH a few hours after lights out and then test again around mid-day.

Using mtDNA and microsatellite sequences from natural populations and fish collections we might be able to find out the primary source population. It can be done. But most likely that will not happen.

I was considering purchasing Hara Jerdoni for my 29G aquarium.
Tankmates would be Corydoras aeneus (6), and Nannostomus Eqeus (1). Are Hara Jerdoni solitary in nature? How many would be suitable for my aquarium?
Any advice on specific care/requirements?
