Re: another annoying ID thread- ancistrus

Re: another annoying ID thread- ancistrus
they are not cataracts (eyes are clear)- that is overhead flash wiht no direct light source. They do have a blue appearance (albeit not cloudy in real life). I totally forgot I even HAD these fish, they haven't bred, and I hadn't really seen them much. I will snap better pics, and will absolutely ...

another annoying ID thread- ancistrus
Hey guys. I got this pair about 4 or 5 years ago from a hobbyist who had to relocate out of the country. All he told me is that they were from Peru.
Any guesses? Thanks

Re: A few from Iquitos to ID
A couple years ago I got fish from Peru that look identical to you woodcat A and got an id of Centromochlus macracanthus. I gave them to Regina Spotti- perhaps she has an idea?

Re: what was the highlight of CatCon for you?
I didn't get to look around the room sales much, as I was trapped in my own. The highlight for me was hanging out with so many people that I rarely get to see- those from other countries, or even just opposite coasts. I get so much joy out of socializing and drinking beer with people I spend so much ...

Re: Microglanis
I just have a group. The females are positively ROTUND. I will toss some leaf litter in there and see what happens. Once I have babies, those will definitely be for sale. If I don't have success by Spring, I may list the group so someone else can have a go, as they are pretty cool fish.

Microglanis
Hey guys! These Microglanis (from ansina, rio tacuarenbo) were collected for me in Uruguay. I lost the notebook that had what was thought to be their species name. Any help? Also, looks like they are beginning spawning behavior, any suggestions/tips on this? http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff170 ...

They were ALL out of the same shipment from Colombia.
I can certainly take a ton of pictures, I have lots more but didn't want to oversaturate the post with too many. I will get the requested shots. Thank you!

Re: Farlowella- mixed bag of species
There are also what may be? two types with three rows of scutes, otherwise, they look nearly identical but are much more slender, with a short, thin nose.

Farlowella- mixed bag of species
I did an import out of Colombia and decided to grab a bag of Farlowella. I knew when I ordered them that they would likely be a few species, and just wanted to share what came in, and get potential ID. I am not in a rush, as I bought these for my own personal tanks, but thought it might be ...

Re: Hisonotus aky type- new pick ups
Thank you! I was pretty sure they were a new species, but am far from an ichthyologist. Shane Linder took a look at them when I got them from my buddy. I also got some pretty rad Microglanis (from ansina, rio tacuarenbo) and an eel cat (Heptapterus mustelinus, also from Gajo). I hope to photograph ...
