Re: L236 tank - ammonia issues
Wow, it looks like despite the best of intentions I may have screwed up. I suppose I could get more cover in the form of plants, and a really low-power led hood to light them...I'm thinking very low light stuff like anubias/java fern/anacharis. Hopefully I won't be introducing algae doing this :( As ...

Re: L236 tank - ammonia issues
I set the tank up for breeding and to make it easier to clean. If it will make them happy I suppose I can add some more wood, but I don't light the tank, so plants are out of the question.
Do you think 6 of these fish are too many for a 20 long? Do you think I should cut back to 3 or 4?

L236 tank - ammonia issues
Hi, I started an L236 tank on Nov 24 with 6x (2-2.5 inch) fish in a 20 long. Here is the layout: https://i.imgur.com/lna0R7s.jpg I did a fishless cycle for 10 days prior to receiving the fish, waited for my nitrite spike to come and go, ammonia to go away, nitrates to appear, etc... Filtration is a ...

Re: Deworming plecos who are not eating
Just a heads up. Repashy has discontinued the Meat Pie. It has basically been replaced by Bottom Scratcher. I'm new to Hypancistrus and Repashy and recently ordered some Bottom Scratcher and Grub Pie: https://www.store.repashy.com/grub-pie-fish-3-oz-jar.html Since I'm new I have no idea what was in ...

New L340s
Just got 4 new L340s in, they are about 2 inches long. If anyone wants to hazard a guess as to their sexes, I'd be grateful

Mixing L340 and Ancistrus cf. cirrhosus
I am redoing an established cichlid tank to house mainly plecos and I'm afraid I may have made a mistake in fish selection. The tank: 20 gallon Long 30 ¼ in. x 12 ½ in. x 12 ¾ in.(77cm x 31.75cm x 32.3cm) filtration is an Aquaclear50 HOB filter and an Eheim 2213 cannister decor is black sand, java fe ...

Pygmy Cory feeding
Hi all, I have had 8 of these little guys for a week now, and have been feeding daily, usually a small hikari sinking wafer (They congregate around it and I give them an hour at it, then I vacuum the remains), and every so often they get frozen bloodworm or frozen baby brine shrimp. I'll fast them ...
