Hi,

Personally I don't like taking home wild fish. Past experience has steered away. Where as wild are nicer, they can harbour nasty diseases (not always). At least with tank bred they are acclimatised to tank conditions properly.

I don't have ant intension of cross-breeding, I was just want to make sure this din;t happen. As it is they are gong to be in seperate tanks.

Thanks for your help guys. He or she will be going in with my small comunity tank, away from other plecs. I may add more Zebras in the future though

That can easily be supplied. Have they been known to interbreed with Choclate Zebras. If so would you recommend having them in seperate tanks

As far as I am aware they do not have any reliable external caracteristics, but as with most plecs the female is slightly plumper when see has eggs?

I personally don't know anyone who has bred Gold Nuggets.

Hi,

I bought my current male at an inch in length, and it wasn't until he was just over 4 inches before he started to look for mate. The female was slightly smaller but bulging with eggs, they laid eggs once in the community tank but I didn't see any resulting fry.
