Re: Flatulence in C. paleatus
Today's update: So I've injected her with another 0.1 mL of Terramycin this afternoon. It went pretty well today, she didn't collapse or anything, but after the injection she seemed a bit more passive than usual. She breathes and swims as usual, thankfully. About her condition, in general it looks ...

Re: Flatulence in C. paleatus
Update: I have looked Oxytetracyclin all over the city from this morning to afternoon only to realize that it is the same as Terramycin, something I have already had lying around in my cupboard. So I injected her mouth with 0,1ml or same as 0,5mg Oxytetracyclin and she coughed and then collapsed ...

Re: Flatulence in C. paleatus
I found the disease, it's called Edwarsiella Septicemia , the description is matched with the symptoms so far. And right now it's devoloping a gas under the tissue debris. http://i53.tinypic.com/2uh7gbq.jpg You can see that there's a balloon like tissue in her back at the new photo. The book I read ...

Re: Flatulence in C. paleatus
In the quarantine tank right now, I changed the water everyday due to it's not have a filter at all about 50%. The temperature is about 25ºC(77ºF) in the quarantine tank and 27ºC(80ºF) in the main tank because I give fluorescent light due to having plants. Right now, I don't give any epsom salt to ta ...

Re: Flatulence in C. paleatus
Thanks for the reply. Here's a little update. I am still isolating her in an emergency tank, but I lower the water level to 4 cm only. She doesn't seem to be having any problems under this condition (i.e. not clinging to water surface anymore), so now I'm trying to add the water level little by ...

Flatulence in C. paleatus
Hi all, One of my C. paleatus (female, 4.5 cm) suddenly has flatulence problem. Yesterday evening, I found her clinging to plants on the water surface, with head emerging from the water. At first I didn't know what the problem was, but after moving her to a quarantine tank, I realized that she ...

Re: Cory ID please
Thanks for the reply. I agree with Silurus that the second pic is a Brochis splendens. However, I doubt if the first pic is a C. trilineatus as it has no trace of any reticulated color patterning on the head. I agree with Kim M that the specimen is too snouty, but it is not from C. leopardus group ...

Cory ID please
I've just bought 2 pairs of Corydoras yesterday. The LFS didnt specify what kind of Cory these are, they just sold them as Corydoras. So I've done a bit of research and this is what I think they are. However, I'm not 100% sure so can anyone please confirm it? 1. Corydoras xinguensis http://i54 ...

Re: Bloated Rineloricaria fallax
I don't think she's mature enough to be gravid. She's only 6 cm long. Is it possible?
She appears to be normal, though.

Bloated Rineloricaria fallax
I have a R. fallax that seems to be bloated. Here's a ventral picture of it. http://i48.tinypic.com/2v11ze8.jpg I've read that this might be because it didn't eat enough plant matter. I've tried to correct this problem by giving it zucchini and keeping it in a tank full of algae, but it seems like ...

Re: What kind of catfish is this?
A little update.. About 4 days ago, I asked the woman who sold me these unknown creatures. She said that it might be a "boboso" fish aka Oxyeleotris marmorata or Marble Sleeper Goby. But I suspect that this isn't O. marmorata because the absence of 2nd dorsal fin which any goby should have. I asked ...

Re: Advice on how to keep Chaca chacas?
sorry i havent updated this thread for ages but my last chaca chaca died a while ago. Some friends told me that my Chaca was wild-caught, so it might have died from stress or shock from being wild-captive. Is it possible?

Re: What kind of catfish is this?
First of all, thank you for all of your replies. Unfortunately, I can't give you a better picture because I don't have a proper digital camera (I took those pictures with my cellphone) and I've lost those tiny catfish. One is dead, and I can't find the other. I dont know if it's just hiding or if it ...

What kind of catfish is this?
Hello, I recently got this unknown catfish mixed up in a pack of ghost shrimp I bought for fish food. Its size is really small, only about 2 cm. Can someone please give an ID? Is it some kind of Sisoridae? I'm pretty sure this catfish is a local catfish. (I'm from Indonesia). Thank you very much ...

Re: Advice on how to keep Chaca chacas?
I don't think my filter is that powerful. It's just 850 l/hr. They used to hide under the driftwood, but when they die, they almost always end up being sucked. I guess I'll get that substrate a.s.a.p. Btw, my Chaca chacas are still around 6 cms, so it's quite difficult to find a bottom dweller that ...

Advice on how to keep Chaca chacas?
Hi all, I'm new here. :D First of all, my tank specifications: Size: 60x30x36 cm Water height: 15 cm 1 driftwood Bottomless pH level: 7.5 (balanced) Water temperature: 28-29C I had 4 Chaca chacas in there, but 3 of them died. I provided them with 10 Zebra Danios and 9 Red Bloodfin Tetras for their ...
