Thanks for the replies guys. He did start eating frozen bloodworms, and he also ate some ghost shrimp that had been in the tank forever and a pair of feeder guppies that had some babies. Ironically enough, he ate two litters worth of the babies before the parents.

100% not Bagarius in the photo. If the price is high I would ask for a photo of the actual sp in stock. If the price is low, you can just role the dice as you are sure to end up with some sp of nice sisorid.

So, within 5 years or so, you need a pretty decent size tank or pond. Have you got some idea of how you are going to solve that now, or is that "let's solve it when we get there"? I mean a 20ft x 10ft x 8ft ...

there should be a MAXIMUM size on these big fish. People taking these old beasts for their relatively poor meat just to have a trophy is doing little more than taking a prolific breeding source out of nature. Big ones should be protected.
