Re: Hogenakkal

Very nice write up, and those woven round rafts are amazing. I've always wanted to bring a Kerala house boat here to Minnesota and do tours on our big lakes! :d

Re: Goeldiella eques

Thanks for the info! I think it probably would like a hiding place, but until my next tank upgrade I dont have the room for the pike cichlid to become territorial. There are some rocks and plants, and it surprisingly doesnt wedge itself in there.

Re: Goeldiella eques

Thanks for the info. Mine is great looking, but not active at all, and keeps to his corner. However, it was pretty skinny when it came in, but is eating Hikari Sinking Cichlid Gold pellets right now. It is only at about 4.5" maybe, and most likely freshly wild caught and I have only had him for a ...

Re: Leiarius pictus!

Haha wrasse! Richard, the only reason the other fish looked stressed is because they had a full stomach, they are not really stressed at all. If I dont feed the dats for a day, they are at the front of the glass begging for food, same with the other fish. They are all fat and happy. The male motoro ...

Re: Chaca and Liosomadoras compatability?

It should be fine as long as the other catfish is larger than the chacas mouth and you keep the chaca well fed. The youtube video of a chaca eating a goldfish is actually of my chaca, and as you can see he did fine with most other fish until my wolfish went on a killing spree and bit him in half ...

Re: Stressed Channel Cat? Not Enough Oxygen?

No Problem, glad we could help! Wait for Shanes opinion on this too, but I would keep doing daily water changes until the nitrites and especially your ammonia levels read 0. Your nitrates are ok where they are, as long as they are below 10ppm. Remember that your water does not actually get too ...

Re: Stressed Channel Cat? Not Enough Oxygen?

Though its good you dipped everything in old tank water before putting it in, the biological bacteria (BB from here on out) is usually attached to surfaces in areas with current, hence bioballs give them a surface to attach to in an ideal area. Therefore, just dipping your sponge/filters in tank ...

Re: Stressed Channel Cat? Not Enough Oxygen?

Hello sorry to hear about your the condition of your cat. First things first, did you use any type of dechlorinator (Seachem Prime is a great one) while doing the water change? Secondly, I hate to say it, but there is a chance your might have killed of the your biological filtration. With such a ...
