Hi Jacob,
"The pH and the hardness of the water is quiet high. pH around 7-7,5."
It is a true - pH is quiet high , really high, ph 6 will be better.

Hi,
I thing also that H. debilittera L129 and L340 are the same species, the species that is extremely variable in color.
Look into my gallery:

Re: L260
Hi, I think the one is L-411 and the other one is L-262. Its is not an L262, I agree that it looks more like a L136 Hypancistrus sp(l136) but because the picture was taken in such an angle it is hard to see the body shape for sure./ I dont know if in English is a valid name for L262 guinea fowl ...

Re: L-28-vsL-339vsL136b
Hi, the last image is most likely really L028. the images before can be L73 or H.lunaorum L339 I think that L 136b looks otherwise. I think that L04/L05/L028/L073 are just color variations of the same species. L04/L05 - gray-white background color L028 - yellow-brown background color L073 - dark ...

Re: Hypancistrus? ID please
Hi,
I think that both fish are L340/L129. The young fish L129/L340 are a large variation in color, but the stripes are thin. so I can say that it isnt L270 or L 333. Both of these species have bands wider and not so nice contrasting color. And L 333 are generally robust.

Re: can you id my hypancistrus please
Hi,
I send pictures of eggs L 201 and L 028. L 201 has more smaller eggs (35 - 45 pieces) such as the L028 (cca. 20 eggs) which is more larger size, and fry these two species are also irregular size, and L028 are twice the bigger size compared with L201.

Hi Jac,
I'm not sure if your fish are pair. Fish on the right seems more like a young male. Do you have head photo(odontodes)?
