Re: Cory Hybrids

I'd just like to post about another species that can produce albinos. This is a picture of an albino C. venezuelanus along with others of the same species that I received from Coryologist several years ago. I've been breeding them for at least two generations but have never seen another albino among ...

Re: Pnda cory breeding set up

Hi taheton :) While C. pandas tend to eat their eggs, they also like to hide them too. This might make it difficult to find them if you have plants in the tank. I find it works well to keep the tank bare, with just a bit of gravel or sand on the bottom and hang metal thermometers on the side, in the ...

Re: C. schultzei dropping eggs

Thanks for posting, fischkringli, but I don't think that's the reason. I've had these fish since 2005 and nothing has ever interfered with them spawning before. I've spent hours watching them at it, and even taken flash pictures. They have been frequent and prolific spawners in the past, when ...

C. schultzei dropping eggs

When my C. schultzei spawned today, the female put some of the eggs on the glass, filter, and java moss, as she usually does, but she also just dropped a lot of them. I found them in clusters on the gravel. Once I saw this happen as she was seemingly on her way to deposit them on the glass. They ...

Hi klingham, The reason I thought your corys might have a bacterial infection is because I just replied to a similar post on another forum, but in that instance the corys were being attacked by normally peaceful platys. When their owner separated them and their symptoms were visable, it turned out ...

Hi klingham I've kept some C. gossei for over a year and have never seen anything that would be even remotely considered aggressive behavior toward their own species or any of the other species in their cory community tank. But, since nobody else has replied to your distressing post, let me suggest ...

While having two or more males for each female might increase the fertility rate, when it comes to C. aeneus (which Miss's albinos might well be) it only takes a pair to do the job. Here's a picture of a pair of wild caught bronze C. aeneus and the spawn they surprised me with. They produced all ...

Hi Barracuda518, That cory looks just like one I've been trying to find for a long time now. Several years ago one of the local chain stores, Petland Discounts, sold them under the common name of "Golden Ears." They carried them for quite a few months with new shipments coming in regularly. Then ...

My pandas have been spawning regularly at 74.5 degrees F. I have a group of around 20 pandas and they used to spawn every few days until I added other corys to the tank. Then they gradually stopped. Once I moved them out to their own tank they started up again without my doing anything else to ...

C. blochi?

Hi all :)

These corys were sold online as C. blochi, but they don't seem to match any pictures I can find of them.

I'd appreciate your help with identifying them.

Many thanks!

These are sold around the holidays as, "Christmas Corys."

I can hardly think of a more horrible way to celebrate than by buying mutilated fish.
