well, they spawned last nite!!! i guess i was just impatient!

they spawned 2 times before and did not bother the eggs! only the last 2 spawns did they eat the eggs.but i have not seen eggs for the last 3 weeks now. either not spawning, or eating them fast. i have another tank cycled, thinking of moving half into it.

10 gal tank lots of water movement, lots of live moss, sponge filter 76F. same as for my a. albater. pH around 7. same set up as my other as all my aspidoras. they have spawned but not that i know of in last 3 weeks. did eat their eggs last 2 spawns. 11 fish in the group.

they have finally spawned for me!!! spawned 4 times in about 3 weeks. saved a few fry from the first 2 spawns. they ate the eggs of the other 2 spawns! it has now been almost 3 weeks and i have not seen any more eggs! i wonder if they are eating the eggs as soon as they spawn? any ideas what to do ...

i thought so, but figured better to ask!

i just got a dozen aspidoras spilotus juvies today. any one have any tips on their care? i also already have aspidoras albater that are doing great.
the original 10 have blossomed to around 100 in the past 3-4 months!! any tips would be appreciated!

my aspidoras albater put most of their eggs in java moss and on the glass. the filter doesn't seem to appeal to them. they are spawning like crazy!!! see more eggs every 7-10 days. started with ten, now have around 60!! have sold and given some away as well.

yes i did. they were in other tanks for about 2 months, but as soon as i put them in this tank, next day they were sick. so were the sterbai. it may be the guppies, i have moved some to another tank and they are sick now. only this strain seems to get sick. my other strain is healthy as a horse ...

thanks for the reply. lost 1 sterbai today. others are swimming and active. water tests ok. eating ok. i wonder if it is my tap water or pipes. i have copper pipes in my house, probably 30 yrs old. but have had no problems til recently. have lived here and had fish for 11 yrs. never had this problem ...
