FRy are still going well... Although i have found them to be very slow growers...
Still trying to find time to get the extra photos but have submitted some basic info... Learning is still being done on this species...

Hi all
Well i still have the 1 sole survior fry from this spawning.....
The good news is i have a second chance another clutch of eggs.... I hope to one day soon get my own digital camera and take some nice photos

I think you missed the point..... The point being we should be breeding genetically pure species from same localities and learning about the "wild" form of the species.

I havent checked nitrates yet... ? will do tonight
They are in a fry saver i made with the parents. Its basically a 4lt icecream container with sides cut out and nylon flyscreen put in place to retain fry in there.

L127 fry
Bad news guys the fry have been dropping off 2 -3 a day. Sometimes more.
There is only 5 left. While excited they spawned disappointed that i havent had better success with the fry.
There is 1 that looks like the yolk sak is about to go. If i can get him on to a food that will be a step forward ...

On Page 1 of the post i have added some more pictures including the male. He does have cauliflower type tufts near the gills. Hope this helps

The adult pair are about 4 - 4.5 inches...( about 15 - 17 cms at a guess)

Update : i am down to 30 fry now exactly
they are bout 14 mm in length and still have the sack. they are in a fry saver as they were escaping the cave and were in danger of the fluval.....
I have added an airstone... hopefully this may help them out abit... unsure why i have lost fry atm... hoping ...

This fish i am sure are L127... the scientific name is different in a few books but is same fish.
In aqualog is is listed as a hypostomus unae... will i dont think they are a hypostomus they certaince could be an ancistranae unae l127 as listed in the Fish Atlas (thick black nook)
