What Royal is this??
Hi guys,
On another forum someone posted their pics of their royal. I did ask him what one this is but has no idea. I asked if it was ok to post here to find out what varity it is. I haven't seen one with these colours. Was told that (she) is 34cm. The pics make it look almost black and white but ...

Re: What Ancistrus is this guy??
I don't think that really helps - it probably wasn't born together with the other albinos, and just got in there by accident (or was a remnant of another batch, for example).
Nice fish, either way.

Ok that explains a bit but if it's an unidentified specie, then why does it have the label of L144?

So what your saying is that it is a ancistrus of some kind but not a true L144 and not the other vairent that you mention.
Even though it looks like the picture of the L144??
I'm now confuzzled?!?!

Re: Syno Multipunctatus??
Thank you very much Richard.
I'm all the way down in the sunny side of Essex in Colchester. Thats why I don't want to pay £45 a pop. £15 is a bit more reasonable at 3 inches.
I'd be grateful for any of your cast off's but give us plenty of warning to get transport to nottingham, lol.

Re: Syno Multipunctatus??
Would it be wise to wait till its a bit older, so the markings and what not show a bit more to the right ID?. I would like to have the same species but after the dealer said that the multipunctatus is selling at £45 a pop, I'm a bit hesitant to buy at that price.

If thats the case, I can't get anymore synos or can I?
The dealer said that he has petricola's, would (if I can) I be able to have these in with my other syno?

Brought this chap to go in my lake tanganyika tank a few weeks ago and would like ot double check that this is what it was sold to me as. Unfortunately they only had one, this is the main reason to why I would like to double check so I can get some more of these guys.

Re: Royal Growth Rate?
Thats the one Mats. Ok, so we'll just have to keep feeding and regular water changes.
I only asked about price as we paid £30 just under and didn't really know what the price range for these species. As long as we didn't get ripped off for this chap or chapess.

Royal Growth Rate?
Afternoon guys n gals,
My partner and I just recently aquired a Royal Plec and was wondering what their growth rate is as the species page doesn't say much about this. At the moment the size is close to 3 inches.
Also what is the usual asking price for these in the UK? I'm just being curious now ...

My thoughts on the Swine Flu outbreak has been taken by the media and has been taken to sound worse than it actually is.
I work in one of the swine flu centres and have seen people with it, it's not nice but it's going to happen.

Thanks Richard
Well I'm not concerned about water changes, I do them regulary. I was more worried about the catfish itself. Its so greedy, lol. At least I now know it shouldn't be a problem unless s/he decides s/he doesn/t like it. Never seen a fish be regurgitate.

tiger shovelnose x red tail catfish and potato
Hi guys,
I put a bit of potato in the tank last night (trying differnt veg for the plec) and s/he decided that it was their dinner and ate the whole piece, now has a slightly square tummy. The piece wasn't any bigger then an inch.
My question is, is s/he going to be ok?
Thanks in advance

I agree with what Jools has done, having post with sexual nature is wrong for kids to see and maybe hard for parents to explain the meaning of the 'joke'.
