Justin, how big is the L95? Did yours start with L152 coloration as well or did you buy him with this coloration?
Can you post some more pics of that fish plz?

@ Cristoffer, what does that pic have to do with this thread?

i just want to say that its best to check your lfs's to find what you actually can get and then do some research in the catelog and ask questions about specific species here. Its a bit hard for us to recommend things you might not be able to buy anyways and in fact you can almost put any plec in ...

No, exactly the opposite I think?!?!? What do you mean by the real thing?

Jools

keeping it is pretty similar to L264, which you can find in the catelog. a lot of plecs show agressiveness towards other plecs but they will be fine as long as you provide enough hiding places for all the fish.

i'd go get asap! it can easily be held in your tank for the time being. As these fish arent that active, a 360L will be fine. just make sure your filtration is up to the job as these fish produce a lot of poo. Make sure your filter (without powerheads) does at least 3-4 times the tank volume in an ...

never do such a big water change unless you really have to. rather do 25% a couple of times a week than 75% a day...

get rid of any medic leftovers in your tank. Plecs dont praticularly like meds. and do get a good nitrate test to see what the levels are.

you can get yourself an eheim 2260 or 2080. They are among the most powerful tank filters you can buy atm. If you want something easy to clean i'd go for the 2080. It does 1700L/hr and has a massive amount of filtermedium. Easy to clean too with the different containers. The 2260 is very powerful ...

28 is no problem either, but i wouldnt go much higher. If your heater is old and not too good anymore, you might wanna consider buying a new one though... they are pretty cheap and i can tell you from personal experience, you dont want a heater to go crazy with temps.

tracy, your temp is a bit high, lower that to 27C. I think your just lucky with this very active plec. Normally, royals arent that shy and you will see them a lot but sometimes you have those very active plecs.

try feeding him shrimp. I buy the pink shrimp in the supermarket and my vamp loves it! he also eats algue wafers though and in fact most i throw in except cucumber and paprika etc. You can also buy these shrimps as your lfs in bigger packages and way cheaper.
