You are right about it not being a catfish, but they do have a sucker mouth, and they are HUGE! My husband catches them in the Columbia River, so I've seen one up close...

Nice tank! I too, have plecos that change color, whether it be mood, camoflage, etc. I wouldn't worry too much, as long as he's eating.

My fave is a toss up, as far as behavior, my violet/rusty/bruno (L-077) he cruises the tank like he stole it!
As far as looks, definitely my zebra, he's beautiful!

It will release Tannins into your water for a few months, but boiling it first helps a little...Mine hasn't made a noticeable difference, but my mom's tank is a little tea colored. Hope this helps.
