Hi I have done similar to characinkid on an 8x2x2 in my fish house. The filter sits on top of the tank at one end and we use a large external pump to feed it. The problem for ours was that the pump was too powerful and the filter kept overflowing so we had to fit another couple of outlets from the ...

I have several adult males and they all have their little quirks. One of mine likes to hang upside down from bogwood then let go so when I go to have a look I see him lying on his back in the tank and I think he's dead  Some of mine seem to flex their odontodes like an exercise and they will ...

I have had this before with first time spawnings of bristlenose pairs ...

My fiance had one before I met him - he used to feed it dead chicks and baby mice (the kind you get frozen from a reptile store), as well as whitebait and bits of fish from the local supermarket. He used to hand feed it - but I wouldn't recommend it. They are a lovely (usually friendly) fish. Sadly ...

I have about 4 of the piebald ancistrus and can confirm that they do go browner with age but it is more dark browny-black and when stressed their piebald colouration shows through. I have one male about 1 inch and 3 females about 1/2-3/4 of an inch.
