Doesn't it depend on the temperature difference between the tank and the room, the surface area of the tank, and the amount of surface agitation. Just to add to the confusion - the picture posted by Shane as "Sturisomatichthys leightoni collected from the Magdalena"
is the same image listed under Sturisoma aureum in the Cat-elog.

How do the genera Sturisomatichthys and Sturisoma differ in their scientific descriptions?
