Thanks mats. :D This is the first pleco i have ever bred.I'm hoping there are lots more than the 6 juveniles i have spotted up to now. They are very tricky to photograph as they hide as soon as i approach the tank, but i shall keep trying

New tanks

Hi I have received 2 new Juwel tanks today (what a lovely valentines gift :D ),a rio 125Litres & rio 180Litres. I was just wondering if the CompactH filtration in these tanks is adequate enough if i was to stock both with about 6 Hypancistrus Sp & about 6-10 small tetras(or other smallish bread ...

I've had no problem with mine. They are taking bloodworm, algae wafers, catfish pellets and they go crazy on chopped shrimp/prawn.I've also seen them grazing on cucumber.
Just because you haven't seen them eating doesn't mean they aren't.

best of luck

Tank mates

Hi
What top/mid-water fish should i choose to share 180 litre with L333? Temp 27c,pH 7.4 no plants just sand, rocks & piles of bogwood and a fast current.

I know there must be loads to choose from, but what would you recommend.

Nothing too big though 3" max.

thanks

Hi I suspected it was l66,it certainly looks better in the pic than it really is,the stripes are barely visible. It's still a nice fish though, almost 15cm and in good health. Was it worth the £12GB i paid for it,i think so :) I've not seen it eating yet but food seems to be dissappearing so i think i ...

Thanks for trying But it definately isn't L002 or L038 the lines are much thinner and broken,i'm sure it's a hypancistrus but not sure of the L#.L066 is still the closest match, looks similar to the close up of head pic in cat-e-log. BTW it's not as orangey/brown as it appears in the pic(probably the ...

Hi Tom Cat-e-log says pH 6.4 - 7.6 for L260 arabesques. They aren't too fussy about water parameters and have been known to spawn in ordinary(Dechlorinated) tap water with a pH of 7.5 - 8.0. I would lower the pH gradually though so the L260 can slowly become accustomed to it. What Cichlids are you ...

Hi sexing of peckoltia Sp is pretty much the same. Males have the odontodes (hairs) on the pectoral fin rays and rear half of the body, females do not,but females look much broader than the males when viewed from above. I doubt they loose the hairs as they age,i believe it becomes more noticable in ...

I didn't realise they were so nasty toward each other, i've never seen my nuggets or arabesques behave so aggressively so was a little surprised to see it occuring. It was quite amusing to watch though :)

Hi I caught two of my L134's behaving aggressively to each other,in fact one had the other in a pin-fall :? (see pic). This behaviour went on for 5 mins or so and had me a little worried.I've never seen pleco's doing this and was wondering if it is just a sign of dominance or something else. Also is ...

The upper part of it's body looks like l27, the l330 is spotted as opposed to striped. The snout doesn't look spotted enough to me, to be l330.

Still confused though :?
