i am not sure on my ration of M/F in my L260 tank but i notice that one of my plecos (male) was fanning his fins. does this mean that there is a female present in the tank, or do they just fan thier fins sometimes. there are 8 plecos in the 40 gallon flat back hex and 6 caves (slate and 3 PVC ...

yeah i am sorry i miss read your comment. yes i got them for jeff and they have white bellies and since i cant tell the difference i guess i couldnt expect him to. i couldnt have done better myself.

yeah the heads on those two look the same. the body is different but that is becuase the female is rip with eggs. i am so confussed.

thats weird pleco 3 is the one with the white belly and shorter odontodes. pleco 2 and 1 both have marbled bellies and a flater head. woudl a pic at a different angle help and if so what angle. thank you for all your help.

the one i think might be a female has a white belly, and the odontodes are much shorter. i have read that the odontodes on females are very small but i am curiuos to how small becuase i can still see them on this individual.

well i have a male, who has lost his rack, in a tank for about 6 months now and he has bred 3 times with 2 females. they were purchased at the same time as babies and grow up together. his rack has never been that great but when this other one last his great rack i am assuming i am going something ...
