as I have been so overwhelmed with replies I would like to ask another question. How often can you salt dip a banjo? I did it this morning and it seems to have helped slightly so when can I do it again?

help! my banjo catfish is very poorly. For a while he has had a pinky white substance covering one of his gills and has been swimming to the surface alot. I have recently bought a 14" common plec to put in my 5' tank. The problem is I have got sand/gravel substrate and the syphoner I have will not suction his huge amounts of poo up. I now know why I couldn't find any info. I spelt it wrong! I still haven't seen it eat anything. In fact I haven't seen it at all!

it's got a big fin on the top. I was told Royal something but I don't think it is a whiptail. I've looked at a picture of one and it doesn't look like it.

I have no idea what this fish is.

I have just bought a catfish and have forgotten the name of it. It is around 5 inches long, is grey and black and has a long tail with a long whispy bit coming off the end of the tail fin. Any ideas. Sorry but I haven't got a picture.
