Starting a breeding program

I have, for many years, kept corys of one type or another and have always wanted to breed them. I have been thinking of starting with c. paleatus and then going onto something a bit harder ie c.julii. My question is, what equipment do i need in order to get them upto breeding condition and then to ...

Hi coryman, just a little feedback on the two food samples recieved. My corydoras paleatus,L177 and and ancistrus love them so much(particularly the ancistrus!) when the tetra waffers were used up I went out and bought some more. Even my rainbow fish try to get them. They keep their shape very well ...

Hi, biomechmonster. I will try to get a decent photo tonight. I've tried to before but the fish seems to know when it's photo is being taken and refuses to adopt the correct pose(sic) Gave me a fight tonight though, thought I would have to perform the last rights! but just turned out to be ...

I'm not sure. I couldn't find anything, but one seller says that e-bay does allow fish to be sold as long as certain "rules" are followed. What these rules are I haven't been able to discover.

Are these synos??

These fish are for sale on e-bay as upside down cats. They don't look like upside down cats to me.
Any ideas so that if I decide to buy them I know what I'm getting into!

Hi plesner. The colour change happened over 2/3 days and I've not made any changes to the tank/water for nearly three weeks, but a water change is due as my nitrates are getting close to 20ppm(I use nitrates as a guide).
Thanks

hi Barbie just to clarify the comments I made about the Praecox. I was told to treat 'just in case' even though it would cause additional stress to the fish and didn't treat and as a consequence lost two fish one to ich the other to dropsy. :( I now think that a precautionary treatment is preferable ...

PRAECOX it has to be PRAECOX  feed them flakes and they will perform their morning dance for you  . Make sure you get 2males(red fins) and 4/6 females, and quarantine them for at least 2 weeks treat them for ich! and bacterial and you should have no fatalities.

?# - Cories
Personally I LOVE peppered corys loads of typical cory behaviour and they don't get big 2/3 in so you can afford to add about 8.
Never thought of a catfish only tank  must try soon

Talking about nugget prices. I bought mine(queen gold nugget L177)from maidenhead aquatics at 2in for £8.50 it is now about 3in. I would recommend that if you can find a maidenhead aquatics store near you, you will find good reasonable priced goldies that have been quarantined and treated well.

Thanks Silurus. I have read the description and it does seem to be that one. My fish even has the tendancy to swim inverted! but it isn't as territorial as the decription suggests. Strange behaviour though, likes to get into the oddest spots to rest(ontop of the filter pump where it is almost out of ...
