Re: Moving House & Huge fish collection
I've moved house twice in the last few years, I've only got four tanks and my largest fish at the time was a 14" knife fish so not as tricky as your setup. I used various buckets, very large bags from my LFS and a large polystyrene box for carrying the fish. I found our local maidenhead aquatics ...

Re: Raphael With Exposed Fin Bone - Will it heal?
I had to house my spotted one with some less than friendly tankmates a year or so back when moving house, once the time came to get him back to his normal tank in the new house I found that he had lost half of the skin from one side of his body, showing his ribs underneath. Happily once rehomed he ...

Re: small plecs for big tank?
I've got a 13" black ghost knife fish in my largest tank, current cohabitants are three adult bristle noses (occasionally more if they've hatched some babies, who I think end up as knife fish snacks), two synodontis eupterra, some flying foxes and a couple of angels (again occasionally more when ...

Re: Any Issues With Syno Euptera?
I've inherited a couple of Euptera's who now live in my 4 foot tank with a bunch of (2" -4") rainbow fish and a 14" Black Ghost knifefish, and I've never had a problem with them. Through various moves and tank redesigns one of the Euptera's insists on resting in the same place as the knife for most ...

Re: Stocking suggestions for 5' 400litre tank
The MA store at Fair Oak is pretty good, although the catfish numbers seem to vary quite a lot, sometimes they have loads, other times not many. I'd guess it's got about twice as many tanks as the Fareham branch, assuming you've been there. http://www.fishkeeper.co.uk/store.aspx?id=76 There's also ...

Hypostomus faveolus ? If he ever ended up with the colouration of the first faveolus picture I'd be over the moon :d Looking closely at his head he does look to have the lines effect on him, it isn't very standout but is definitely there. The slightly smaller adult size is good news too, makes it ...

Re: ID this small brown pleco
Good eyesight indeed, Wood was out just now and I counted 8 rays on his dorsal fin.
He's in a 70cm tank at the moment so will look at moving him up to one of my 120cm tanks soon, the aquatics shop said he would grow to 10-15cm so off the mark there.

ID this small brown pleco
Hi,
Can someone ID my son's brown pleco, named Wood. Is about 7cm SL, 10cm TL, and has lived with us for just over a year.
Thanks,
Taz

Re: Tubes / tunnels for Pleco tanks
I made something similar out of some large bamboo (~4cm diameter) that I found at a local garden center (well, out the back of our local B&Q), 10 mins with a saw changed my 6 foot cane in to a number of smaller sections, and they stuck together fine with aquarium sealant. Good points are that they ...

New L264 Sultan with sunken belly
Hi, My wife bought me an L264 Leporacanthicus joselimai yesterday which is nice, unfortunately it has got such a sunken belly that normally I wouldn't have gone anywhere near it. On the bright side the eyes aren't sunken so I'm hopeful it was just starved at the shop. He's about 4cm SL. It's in a ...

Alternatives for an L204
My L204 died the other week after about ten years living with us, which from searching sounds like an average lifespan for one. I am looking at replacing him some time soon and would like another wood eater like him, was wondering what the options are. The Catelog mentions them as part of a short ...
