I will not be there I have almost no plecos left, so I have nothing to sell. I am getting rid of more fish and tanks, so I cannot buy anything either.
What I will miss are the people.

Re: Corydoras sick: how to end it ?
I would be inclined to try Flubendazole. I have this and have used it successfully to treat wasting disease. Have a read here http://www.inkmkr.com/Fish/FlubendazoleArticle.pdf As for how to find Flubendazole in France I cannot say. But it is available in Europe. Lernex in the Netherlands sells it ...

Re: Possible Illness
There are times where a bare bottom is an asset. This is one of them because it allows us to see the fish poop and makes it easier to see if there is uneaten food. usually, a bare bottom tank is best for Hospital and often Quarantine use. As for the fish wasting here: Eradicating Hydra and Other ...

Re: New 33 gallon long (4 foot) tank with waterfall and kinon
A number of years ago I messed around with doing a much smaller version of this. I did not know what a kinon was until today and it was not a part of what I did. What was very similar was to have and end to end flow as opposed to the normal back to front we get from hang-on filters. I did a smaller ...

The good news is the WC 173 are spawning and I can spot small fry and bigger. So I am keeping them and a grow tank for them as well for a bit longer. I have 21 in the grow tank now. I will find out what I have in the breeder tank in the near future as I intend to move the fish to the fish space ...

I need to make sure any fish and tanks I am keeping a bit longer can be kept to my usually standards. I just had my carpenter in last evening to see if we can redo my inwall sat-u[. It is a 75 over a 30B (this is no dry and empty). The 75 is high enough up that I must use a 3 step ladder to work on ...

OOPS- I did not look at the pics when I posted. What is below if for aquariums for fish , not the tank you have. I have almost 30 tanks, at this point at least a dozen are empty. Every one of them has the same frame etc. you described. My smallest tank is a 5.5 gal. my two biggest are a 150 and a ...

I have always bred my plecos, starting with zebras as my first Hypancistrus to try to spawn. I was pretty successful and went on to work with more Hypans from the Big Bend of the Xingu. I have thought about what Dbam wrote above for some time now. I just sold off the last of my RB 236 offspring as well as my tank of "mystery" hypans (I had no clue what species they were and it was several not just one.) I now have two zebra fry and my WC 173 and offspring left. They will all be ...

Nature has little choice in terms of evolution as far as I am concerned. It is an ideal way to insure species are best adapted to their environment. It also wants to insure that species survive over time. And for a very very long time nature had its way. What changed things was us. Humans have ...

MY problem has been the house itself. My brother and I , two old bachelors, share a lovely house we inherited. Out parents built it in 1961 as a summer and weekend place. It is in the woods and has its own private well which is mostly why I have done so well with plecos. But the house has no ...

Apparently yes. My brother sent me the pic which was a still taken from a vid. It is a small boat and the man is not reaching for it, so I would guess the fish landed back in the water. That is ubless the dog caught it.

Re: L046 and L144
Actually, zebras are omnivores who prefer meat while the Ancistrus are Aufwuchs feeders who eat the algae because it also contains small meaty critters inside it. Also the Xingu is a long river, but the zebras only live in the Big Bend. Look at what this site says about L144 and Lemon Pleco, neither ...

Re: Corydoras breeding tank size
I would go further than Eric re tank size. The more water that can be involved, the better it is for breeding and growing out fish. I have mostly worked with plecos for spawning. But I have a project going with the black Schultzei. I have 15 fish in a 20 gal. long which is essentially 30" x 13" x 13 ...

I started to look at the link as I was a bit curious. About 18 or 19 years ago I got my first angelfish from a breeder. They were DD Blacks. She sent me 5 and I got a pair out of them. They spawned in my 45 gal. community, so the eggs did not last. The next spawn was on an long anubias leaf. A gent ...

There are two possibilities that occur to me. One would be velvet aka Oodinium. This can be hard to spot on many fish. Velvet is similar to Ich but it is a golden color not white. This can make it hard to spot. Odinium can be treated with the same meds/methods as Ich. The second possibility is ...

Re: Mixing albino corys and pigmented corys influences their movement behaviors
I wonder about one aspect of this. Iy is obvious that nomrmally pigmented fish have black pupil. However, albinos have red pupils. For bottom feeders the eyes are normally places to be able to look up easily as that is where predator may lurk. Their eyes also can see sideways and maybe some to the ...

Re: Augmenting commercial feed with live food enhances survival and grown of juvenile Trachelyopterus galeatus
I am interested in diet and fish. So I was curious about this paper. For one, I feed a mix of Frozen, Repashy and a commercial food. I rotate between them and try to hold the commercial to 15% or so of feeding until my last brand change. Commercial is a pretty generic term as it covers the worst to ...

Re: Trying a pond filter with fountain and UV sterilizer in 75gal tank
The price is certainly a deal. I would be concerned about the fact that 5 in 1 comes in several sizes. But I cannot find flow rates. With UV what it might kill depends on several factors. The trick is to match those factors to the problem one is looking to solve. The considerations are: Kill level ...

Sorry to hear it Eric. But I am older and had a worse one a few months ago. I knew the time was passed to do tank breakdown and removal of offspring. But I had been ...
