I have kept these before and often had trouble settling them in they don't seem to be as hard as other
more robust syno cats ,

main thing is try to get them feeding !
live food may help till they get settled

yes already done that he only had the one !
he ordered half a box of them and got one only he also sold the other giant proberbly to the same person .

all the synos were £10-12 starting price ,
decoras,angelicus,lucipinas,petracola but i was the only bidder and i only took 1 of the 2 angelicus as i believe they can be agresive with each other all the others went unsold.

there was also a large 6 inch red eyed panaque at £25 which also went unsold.

i was at grtr manchester c######d auction on sunday and bought a lovely little 2 inch
genuine syno angelicus for £12,

very cheap i thought !,
they also had decorus and lucipinus and a few cory catfish

not many other catfish there mostly malawis and tangys but very happy with angelicus

looks like a hybrid to me ,

i have kept ocellifer in the past and the ones i had were more light grey in colour with
bold spots and even with the poor pic i still think they are hybrids

no the temp is fine and so are the other fish .
i do feel its a bullying thing though !
only ive seen it doing this before with the multipunc i had in that tank
but i got rid of that about 2 months ago and now the bloody nigromac has started doing it ?

yes they still have the one at wharf in notts it is 9 inches and im not suprized really as they want £150 for it , compared with the one at maidenhead aquatics in wembley which was £65 and they had it for nearly 2 years im guessing unless theres a mug out there with loads of money this one is in for ...

you will be able to get the syno out in day light hours by feeding at a regular time each day , try prawns or muscles broken up or chop up a small piece of a crab stick my synos love this, i buy frozen from the supermarket and just defrost in a cup of warm water when i feed them but only once a day ...

giraffe catfish I.D.

i just bought this at a local fish auction ,
it was just label giraffe catfish,
any ideas which one ?

i to have a giraffe bought as auchenoglanis biscutatus from wildwoods uk but mine looks nothing like the data page picture ,
god knows what is is but hes a great tank buddy for my larger synos and very active to !.

syno eupterus should really be in a river tank not in with malawis etc in hard water,

although they are very tolerent of most waters i too have found they can sometimes be a bit of a bully/chaser when i have had them with other synos and is now one of the synos i do not keep .

that is syno-decoras i have one about 8 inches in my main tank they also call it the african clown for obvious reasons ! but be aware of hybrids on this as theres hundreds around at the smaller shops but if you go to one of the shops that specialize in catfish you should find a genuine one. also ...

yes i will have to get a picture but thats not easy i have loads of rocks in there, this is what it was bought as about 4 years ago now from wilmslow aquatics but looking at the syno list page i am sure your right !, its way to big for atterima,it even seems to big for shoutadeni which would be next ...
