They can probably tell the difference between food and gravel.
I don't think they do... I don't think you should have sand because they MAY eat it! Maybe at most TIGHTLY glued driftwood....

I bought the Sperata at just under 4 inches as an African shovelnose and was told that it only grows to about 8 inches, its now 10 inches but is not yet aggressive to anything it can't eat. It currently gets along with a Synodontus Decorus and several c*****ds. When it gets too big I will have to ...

That's so sad! I know what you felt when your Pangasius died. I had my Pimelodus Pictus for a long time, and then one day... It went

Re: Fishing for Pangasianodon??
especially if what I've read about the females dying after being stripped of roe effort to ........... hybridize them Now if this is correct, then no, I wouldn't condone such activities which result in the death of the animal or the loss of species identity. Sport fishing for these fish (when ...

There are some fillets in my freezer. I eat them myself because they taste good and are fairly inexpensive. I also feed them to my Leporacanthicus species for the same reasons. This is the species I keep in my freezer.... It is imported from Thailand: http://planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php ...

Very nice fish i would like to keep them sometime. Do you have pictures? "Nice" is not how I would describe any Clarias. Vicious gluttons would describe them more accurately. I agree... they grow like monsters and once they get big, they'll kill your fish :an:. And in Asia, they are popular for ...

I don't think they will jump out. And suitable fish:
Do Hyalobagrus fit the bill? Because they aren't monsters, but they aren't sooo active they steal the spotlight.

Hmm. Are those species readily available? Plus I'd bet an Arius would not be suitable. Too big. They'll also need seawater when adult. (if you wanna make em happy!)Saratoga wrote:Butis Butis are commonly found in habitats that contain Neo. glencoensis, Neo.rendahl & Neo. Atter.
