Re: Banjo Catfish with tumor?

I appreciate the feedback on your fish. I was going to introduce 2 more friends [banjos] for him, but Ive been holding off due to this ...

Re: Banjo Catfish with tumor?
Thanks for your replys.
So far Quincy seems to be "OK" ....I've been upping the water changes. Hope this is nothing serious. The little cysts are still there.
I have been keeping an eye on him more then ever this week. I sure appreciate your help and information.

Re: Banjo Catfish with tumor?
Is there any sort of medication I can try to see if it will 'heal' up?
Perhaps up the WC's to once a week to keep water extra clean? Any tips on how to go about making him comfortable? UGH ~ I hate the thought of him being miserable.

I also just noticed his little front "feeler" is short [the one on his right side] could this be some sort of ...

Had the platys for 2 years + ...the corys lasted all of a week!! Back then I dabbled with lowering the PH ...

Re: Banjo Catfish with Moth Hara's?
Thank you MatsP The cats I saw in the LFS are about 1.5 inches long. My guy is abaout 3 inches, and thats it. Maybe he is a smaller banjo? My tank has just the banjo and an apple snail in it. It is about 28 G. Temp is at a stable 78 F and the PH is at a constant 7.8. I do WC's at 50% every 2 weeks ...

Re: Banjo Catfish
Welcome to Planet Catfish. I'm a "Banjo-phile" too. There are times when I wonder if they're still in the tank. Other times, they come out to play and do all sorts of crazy things your friends will never believe. A suggestion for you, at some point in time, would be to move these loves to a tank ...

Will try that this evening for sure!
Thanx again! Will just keep an eye on him and make certain there is no health issues as far as that 'white spot' goes. And also as far as the torn fin goes.

Re: Banjo Catfish
If this is a heater burn, it doesn't look serious. I would make sure it had soft sand and bog wood to hide under so it will stay away from any heaters. I have kept banjos off and on for 40 years and never had one get a heater burn. I count Banjo Cats as my first "odd ball" fish. I bought my first ...
